Yeah it’s not that big a job, the easiest thing to do is raise it another half meter along the top, remove the roof, build new trusses that bolt to the existing trusses and hey presto, jobs done.
Hey Guys. I got the edge welded into the side of the fender so it’s starting to look like something. Here is the before and after shot.
And this was as far as I got, as I realised I could not weld the rear section on until it was fastened to the frame. And I could not access the frame as it was sitting inside of the trailer. So the trailer went back outside again.
I needed to get a front end under it and I had one lying behind the truck, this one was from a 37/38 Ford, it was missing the leaf spring which actually worked in my favour. I wanted to fit the Dragways I picked up before Christmas, only to find out the studs were too short. At that point I realised I would have to take the wheels off the rear axle, so once I found another set for the back, I was able roll the front end under the truck.
And here is the other side, this is just a temporary fix, it steers and it rolls, but there are no shackles so I took the chain from the trailer and wrapped it around the leaf spring.
The cab is not bolted down, I loosely pieced it together because it was taking up space where it was laying. Now that it has a front end under it, I can finally get around to clamping the front fender in place and welding it together. The other thing I want to do is bolt the running board in place.
