Pittsburgh throatless shear for $40. Blades are sharp with no chips, cuts great and with the stand. I told myself no more tools because the shop is full, but I couldn't p*** this up.

Harbor Freight sells that shear for $200 new, so $40 including a stand is a good deal.

I will need to get one eventually. Used ones in my neck of the woods are around CAN$350.

That would be for an actual Beverly not a Chinese knock off. You can buy brand new chinese ones for less than that in Canada. The OP still got a great deal.

Nice score. Most estate, garage or swap meet sale would want 40.00 just for the stand.

Around here some people want more for HF equipment like that than what you can walk into the store and buy it new for when it is on sale. I've never seen a shear for sale though. The last Beverly shear I saw on Marketplace was right there at the top price range across the country.

Here are a couple of Beverly shears for sale in the PNW right now and all I can say is that if you ask 1000 bucks for something at least you can take the time to present it a lot better. Screenshot (2983).png Screenshot (2981).png Screenshot (2984).png

That is a great buy and for $40 you could just use it once and toss it in the s**** pile and it paid for itself. It should last if you don’t abuse the rascal like some Beverly shears I’ve seen. Folks think that it will cut 1/8” if they put a longer pipe over the handle.
