Depends on what kind of a slaughterhouse it was used at.

I've always thought it'd be cool to have a vintage rig like that to tow a race car. Wall off the badk three feet, accessed by the rear doors, and you've got your work area: tool box, small bench, vise, other supplies. The rest of the box would be converted to living space: kitchen, bathroom, couches/beds.

    That'd be awesome.

That thing looks like it would be a blast to work on and live in over the hot summer months.

Really? I thought it was pretty reasonable, but I was basing my opinion on the fact that it looks REAL straight, runs (kinda), steers and stops (kinda)... and I also think it is a "RARE" truck. At least I don't see one at every carshow, hell I don't see one every five years.

But that's just me. I'd offer 3k for it... if I had it. Okay maybe 2500.

Haahaa... yeah. But I live in Kansas, I'm used to being behind jacked-up pickups with overhang campers leaning about 30degrees to the north... we just live with it.;)

Not sure if you would be interested but I went to a Hot Rod shop liquidation sale saturday and spotted a 30's style moving truck, very similar to that one but with a whole lot more character. needs a lot of work but is pretty cool and very CHEEP. I live near St. Louis, the truck is hear.

If you decide you want to buy it beware. Go check it out for yourself as he's not the most honest dealer around. If T-Man happens to see this I imagine he'd confirm what I telling you.

  19. Go for it. This style of truck made for a lot of early hippy vans. Many were also converted to mobile mechanics shops. The modern descendent are the Grumman diesel step vans built on GM Ch***is and Iveco box body trucks.

The REA style trucks were designed to move bulky freight intra-city. They are geared low and tend to have close gear ratios. They are fine for around town but are a pain to drive any distance although many had 2 speed rears.

Most were used hard and were s****ped long ago. Once common they are somewhat rare now.

Here ya go ... How bout a blown big block, a bed, shower and you don't need a stove just carry a propane grill ... then you could race it at the drags then sleep in or cook some burgers between rounds.

Sorry 3WLarry cause i don't thin a flattie would pump that thing down the road. hehehehe

  22. I'll sell ya this one for $1500.00. It runs, but you proably won't want to drive it home. It has a Kansas ***le. The blue one was on ebay about a year ago. Dean

There is a restored 41 Ford Railway Expess truck here in town. There also was a similar IH that sat for years, then was sold at a local car auction.

If all else fails you can pick up the 4X4 El camino on that website....

No, really, I like it. I think 3K would be a good deal on it. You won't p*** yourself going down the road in a rig like that.
