Dont have any pics of it, but Ryerson in the Chupacabras built a damn nice car out of mostly, if not all raw stock. Hamilton or Antichrysler probably have some pics. Not sure if he's on the board or not. Talented dude! Crease Barons So Tex
That Green Bubble top,The Brown Neck Bandito is mostly scratch built.I think he started with a '59 Chevy trunk and Dash, filled in the rest with sheet steel.
[ QUOTE ] Not sure if this MONSTER is home built but it's like nothing I have seen before. [/ QUOTE ] that thing is crazy. there's a website for those guys, www.blastolene.com
THose look sweet.Does anyone build trucks with tops or are all generally roadsters.I would love to see a tech article on how to build one.
I'm building an RPU out of a cowl and doors. found some junk doors from a fellow HAMBerfor the rear panels behind the doors, and will probably cut the rear panel out of an S10 or something(below the rear window, with the ribs stamped in). Check the thread in my signature, will be posting more as I go. I also cut down a later model dash, not sure if I'll use it, though. Here's the dash thread, still need to do a little finishing on it. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=139587
Mine is still pretty rough, but the cowl and doors are the only OE parts of the body. I made the panels behind the doors and the bed completely from scratch out of sheet metal and square tubing.
Only really ****py ones. Had no flash to use. I think ive got ones around that show the individual panels, but ill have to dig em up. Ill get back to ya.
Here is mine with the new 4 link I just did. Don't worry the rear wheels and tires are just rollers for the garage.
As an FYI, the guy (named Dave in Escondido, CA) who built this T, built the whole thing by hand. It came out great and it was his first time doing something like this. He basically wanted a T but that was a little wider and roomer inside. Most of the metal used was s**** pieces he would buy from a local metal supplier, to keep costs down over new steel. A lot of 1"x1" went into the form of the body and such. He drives the thing everywhere and in the first year had put more then 30,000 miles on it. It inspired my buddy and I to get his T-bucket done, which we did.
im satisfied and impressed with some of these rides even if they arent technically roadsters. KEEP EM COMING!!
