Bob, how long does it typically take you to do one of these? The level of detail is impressive to say the least.

 

Thank you John. The first time you enter prompts, you get four images. I usually rerun them several times to find at least one I think is decent. I then take the picture into Photoshop for corrections and edits. The whole process runs about two hours.

1948 Crosley convertible Comp Coupe Cl*** racer

Hello,

After seeing what the local Bixby Knolls racers built for the Compe***ion Coupe Cl*** and the Altered Cl***, my brother was in 7th heaven. If they could build one, why couldn’t he (+ me), of course. So, he talked about the Fiat race car in the Altered cl*** from Bud Rasner, the Bantam Comp Coupe from Bob Brooks and the Dunn Merrit Velasco Fiat Altered. The last but definitely not the least was a blue Crosley Sedan in the Altered Coupe/Sedan Cl*** from Gary Gabelich.

With all of those cars still racing, we decided to build a 40 Willys Coupe with a 671 supercharged SBC motor. Now, it was in a different mode.

A couple of years p***ed and the remnants of our drag racing days were behind us.

During the recovery phase that took almost two years, my brother mentioned the same drag race cars and so he talked about building a fast Crosley Sedan. But that would be like the blue Gary Gabelich Crosley sedan. So, since he liked the looks of the Crosley, he decided that perhaps a convertible top without the convertible top would satisfy the tech inspectors and the frame would be one that would fit inside.

The motor would be a similar SBC 671 supercharged motor with Hilborn Injectors. But, to keep the body smooth and stylish, no motor would stick up and out of the hood. Now, it would be a Potvin style supercharged SBC blower spec motor. If we felt the times with the top open would slow down the Comp Coupe, then the custom metal top would be placed where the stock sedan hardtop was normally placed. YRMV
