So yesterday I got the head and tail lights working. The brake light switch is bad so that will be replaced. Also I think the driver side headlight needs a new unit as the low beam works only. I checked the siring and have continuity on all wires. Taking the driveshaft to get shortened and freshened up with the proper yoke and new u-joints. Then come home and finish some more of the to-do list.
Dash is installed and floor done and sitting there for now. Still have a few things to do before I set the floor for good. Cost me $38 bucks to remake the floor. New 4x4 sheet of 3/4 plywood and a $14 6x8 area rug.
We got back from Aruba last night. What a great vacation! Picked up the driveshaft today and installed it. The floor is installed and shifter boot. Tomorrow the seat goes in and the steering shaft and wheel installed. Then get the rear wheels back on and grill. Turn it 45 degree's and move it out of the shop finally! Fire it up and see what happens.
Got everything all finished up and took it for a spin around the block. Still need to get the transmission tuned with the software provided. I did learn that the main harness plug was 180* out. I had all kinds of error codes. Called US Shift and had to unplug and turn it 180* and plug it back in. All the codes disappeared. Set the TPS and took it for a spin. It's a whole different animal than what it used to be. Throttle is very snappy.
The finished product for now. Still gonna swap the ole rear suspension for new and I'm probably gonna swap the 57 rear end for a Ford 9 inch. But none of that is gonna happen till the winter.
Alright fella's now that the hotrod is done. I wanna be able to stretch it's leg's with a bigger fuel tank. Right now it has a spun 9.7 gallon fuel cell behind the seat. I'm wanting to know what we can buy and install for more gallons? Also would like to get something with a gauge and is easier to fill than what we have. Any idea's?
He means that you need a jam nut on every rod end joint in your suspension and steering. It’s common sense.
If it would ever stop raining she could take it for a spin. Some jamb nuts are on there. Was too early for me this morning.
Your picture clearly shows no jamb nut on the heim end into the hairpin. Needs to be there or the looseness will eventually erode the threads and it will fail.
I'm late to the party. Consider the TH200-4R. It is a 4-speed overdrive that is the size of the TH350. It should be fine in stock form in a mid HP light car and can be built for more HP if needed.
