Early suburban. A chevy in that era would be similar, 39 to 47 I'd guess by the firewall. Cool thing though!
It's a pre WWII Suburban, but without a front clip can't say if it's Chevy or GMC. If it has a vin tag it should identify it as which one. Far more Chevys were sold. Year could be anything from 1937-1941.
37-42 suburban, the actual year depends on which year truck ch***is and front sheetmetal you use to build it. the only real differences between the years is the dash. maybe the cowl.
Does it still have a serial number tag on it? Its kind of cool, but that body doesn't look to be in great condition, and where would you find parts for it? $300-$500 doesn't buy much these days, if you have the required skills (or are willing to learn those skills) to build it yourself, it might be worth jumping through the hoops to build it for that kind of money. I'd probably start by finding out if you can get it ***led in your state and what that process it. Then I would see if I could find front sheet metal, before I would invest even the $300. In my eyes, you have no way to prove that the guy that sold you the body even has a legal right to do so.
In Missouri you can get a state trooper inspection station to do a 5062 vin verification on a vehicle to get a ***le
Id agree with the $3-500 answer. While more rare than a similar era Chevy or GMC pickup it doesn't have the demand of one.
Be aware that the fenders and grille for these trucks bring big money if good shape. Unless you stumble across someone who doesn’t know what they have, the grille will cost that $300-500 again.
