After a Doosy of a time last week and the selling of two of my very favorite Hot Rods (Story for another day by some other person) and the p***ing of a truly one off wonderful friend. My Wife Saint that she is stated looking through Facebook MP. Dangerous combination around here. I'm already vulnerable and have a wad of duckets burning like an Inferno in my pants.

But nevertheless she knows without a doubt my favorite Ford PU is a '35, trying to "see" what is out there she finds two. God Bless her every second of every day! One in Hayward area and one in Sewerside area. Both a fair drive from the Homestead. Ho Hum, no '35 this go round. Or is this the case?

See my Wife loves Ventura and Spencer's Tacos. Ahh the plot thickens.

We'll go there at the drop of a hat, so any excuse to go is good enough. But I am getting ahead of myself.

So I can't take it anymore and call the guy in Sewerside, Hey I like the '35, blah ,blah, blah, blah. Would you consider delivering it because I really can't take two days away right now. True facts. His response was can we meet halfway? There's other parts to the deal that involve a BulTaco, but they're just the deal part not the Truck part. I say sure when and what's halfway?

He says Ventura and how about Wednesday? So first act is to holler down the hallway to get the riding partner in the loop. That was not hard with the mere whisper of Ventura she's on board.

So today a big thing for me came to p***. I gotta '35 PU. No it's not perfect, hell it's not even marginal right now. It does have some pretty nice rear Fenders, and a clean ***le! A solid squint and some home shopping it'll be just what the Dr ordered.

After selling "Dad's Old Truck" I just finished and let go last week it looks like the replacement has arrived :)

The Tacos were Great, the Old Ramp Truck never fails, and the Company was Spectacular!

Now who's holding Running Boards? I've got a couple of extra rear fenders to trade if your interested?

You had me at TACOS!:p, now, back to that truck, way above "marginal" in my opinion and you know, there are two things we need more of (no, not cowbells), we need to see more stakeside pickup beds and tow bars, that would look so cool heading to Bonneville with a chopped coupe in tow.

The way your story reads. I first thought you were saying you're wife died. Now I see, sorry about your friend.

These Old Flat Engines always amaze me. If they'll turn typically they'll run. This one doesn't even smoke?

I may have to let it live in here for a while, may.

    Let's review.
Owns a Hot Rod shop, can't take time off = busy.
Sold favorite cars off = money but no car.
Looks for dream truck, finds a good core. Will now have to build it while busy in the shop with other work.
If any of this is close, this guy has the disease!:D:p

The way that engine purrs, it would be a shame to rip it out and toss it aside.

There will be no tossing aside for a while. IF it proves itself reliable it'll live in there as long as it wants to. :)

    And yes fully infected.....

    Love them '35s
When I was in college, (1971) I heard that a friend had quit driving his '35 Ford Pickup because the frame rusted and it broke in half:(.
Gave him $200 for it, found a free '36 frame and moved everything over to the new frame...took about a month and a half...drove it all through college.

Even did an ink and wash painting of me and the truck for a college art cl***. [IMG]

I’ve an old one, never knew the “model” but the engine has been apart for 40+ years. I needed the crank split for a new bearing, no one would do it back then.

Great story, cool truck, tacos, road trip between two of my favorite places in the world. I gotta ask, was there any fog at Gaviota Tunnel?

    Never heard of fish tacos.
Let alone knew they came with a side of '35 Ford truck.
    I'm going for fish tacos.
    Good score.

So many jokes, so little time. :p
If true, try to find the most Hispanic place within a half day's drive. You should have good fresh fish so it's just a matter of the rest of the ingredients and proper prep.

This is my first post after years of lurking, but I am compelled to agree wholeheartedly that Spencer MacKenzies is the bomb! And congrats on the new wheels!
