A friend’s uncle had a wolf whistle on mid 50’s Dodge in the early 60’s. We were 12 or so, thought it was pretty cool. Have often thought about one, but never got motivated enough to do it.
    Go for it.

Also known around these parts as a "Yip, Ki-Yi, Woo-Woo" horn. I think the old J.C. Whitney catalogs used to advertise these and showed them making that sound.

I've had several wolf whistles, love em. They seem to die soon, I've taken them apart and not sure what the issue is. The neighbors kid blowing it off for miles didn't help I'm sure.
The best fun toy is an exhaust whistle. Sounds like an old steam whistle. I had one on a model T, and going down hill , close the throttle for max vac and you think a locomotive is coming !

My 52 Marmon Herrington Ford pickup had a bull horn. But it spent its whole previous life on a ranch.

My roadster had a bull horn in it when I got it. I don't think I'll put it back in when it's done. Might put it in my truck...

Growing up, my Uncle used to wheel and deal in used trucks. He would put a bull horn on every pickup he owned. He loved to make it bellow when there was an old gal walking down the road. Said they needed to feel good about themselves.....

You may want to check with your local authorities about what's legal.

Under Minnesota statute 169.68, vehicles are prohibited from being equipped with any siren, whistle, or bell, and horns must not emit an "unreasonably loud or harsh sound or a whistle". Horns are meant only for safety, such as warning others to prevent a crash.

yes, I believe Washington state has similar laws.
they would likely only be used as a novelty in novel situations

I remember Larry Watson telling me that the first thing he did when he got his '50 Chevy in 1955 was put a Bermuda Bell in it.
I had one when I built the Watson tribute but never put it in. Put a wolf whistle instead and had loads of
    fun with that one !
A little WD 40 ****ed into the ww keeps 'em whistling like they're supposed to.. just sayin'

I've had a moo horn, a wolf whistle, and a siren on my 49 sedan. I thought the moo horn was pretty cool, the others were annoying.
all my vintage bicycles have had ***orted vintage bells or a Klaxon horn. people on trails don't like the Klaxon horn, it seems to startle them.

My fun horn selection, I found at a swap meet is a Jeep ( beep ).
Also have a small Klaxon that needs work.
Had a nice Olds horn but a s****per made off with it, my fault.
If anybody cares for a serious sounding loud highway horn,
I found such on a '93 Dodge Caravan.
Can't say I'll ever find the right vehicle for these,,, 1950 Plymouth Spartons Can raise the dead.

My 51 Merc had a bull horn on it when I bought it in 1963 and after her car caught fire and burned up she had to drive the Merc for a bit until she got another car and she could work that bullhorn better than I could.

    Hello,

One of our friends’ dad was a truck driver. He had a lot of parts laying around. His daily driver was a Kenworth attached to big multi axle trailer vans. But, he never brought those large vans home. Since he had and alley behind hid house and his backyard was large, he drove his cab right into the yard, so as not to violate the laws of parking a commercial truck in a residential area.

One day, we were messing around and my friend brought out a horn from the workshop. We attached it and it gave off an oddball sound like one hears on a large truck. We both laughed. Then we decided to put it on his Chevy sedan. Now, that was definitely a head turner.

But, it did not sound like a hot rod sedan, so we took it our and put his stock one back in place. I happened to be looking into the Impala motor compartment and dropped a cloth over one of the horns. When we were testing the sounds of the horns, this time it sounded a little muffled, but gave off a distinct sound. A loud “blatt…” sound that stood out in the garage.

So, for the next few weeks I had the only 1958 Impala sedan with an oddball sound coming from the horn. When we drove into the drive-in restaurant parking lot, it made everyone turn their heads to see where or what was making that oddball sound. Ha!

At first, it was funny and distinct. People did hear the horn, but our friends in another car on the street with the windows rolled up barely heard the muffled horn. It was distinct, but slightly muffled. So, we took out the towel that we stuffed inside the horn(s) YRMV

I have both on my car. Used to make the neighbor's dog howl with the wolf whistle when I would drive past his house on the way out to a cruise night. I also found an old siren at a swap meet and used it to clear the lane of people at car shows when I wanted to leave.
