  5. The car is tucked in for the evening. Test hits tomorrow. A pair of 300 footers and a full pull. I will try leaving with different first gears. The wheelie bars might need some tweaking. With the front wheels in the air the bars provide the steering. The right side bar controls that by raising and lowering it. That's why the right side is double wall. 6. It was a very stressful day.. ultimately we prevailed with a best ever 330. Qualifiying starts Friday. It's a good thing we chose to show up early and do a test and tune. This dog will hunt now.

  14. The quote below taken from the link 19Eddy30 posted ...

" Brian Kohlmann gave us all a scare as he lost control just after turning on the Nitro Chaos ‘B Field’ Final Round Win Light in his Nitro Coupe. Thankfully, Brian is reportedly okay after the wild ride".

Looks like there is a bit more than just paint damage due to fire, there looks to be some roof damage to the body too. I could be wrong on the body damage as the door gaps still look great but it sure looks like damage to me.

Happy to hear Brian is OK.

Roof looks pretty well dented. Take it home and access the damage and hopefully not too bad. Roof can be beat back out. Might not look as good but far better then what could have been.

I hated to see this but Brian just keeps putting one foot after another and moves forward.
    Such dedication!

If I know Brian, he's already got the parts ordered and he'll brush this off like he just burnt the ground strap off of a spark plug.

Good to see Brain is OK and congrats to him and his team on the win. His emphasis on safety and his recent upgrades were put to good use and timely indeed. That could have been a hell of a lot worse.

I'm glad to hear he is ok, and curious about what happened. I hope the fire was outside of the car and not in the cabin.

    Brian's post on Facebook:

So to update everyone I'm back home after a eighteen hour straight through tow. My left eye is swollen shut from the burns. I have several second degree burns as well. I never had flame contact I don't think. I believe it was radiant heat from the fire got under the face shield.

I had trouble backing up after the burn out. It wouldn't go into reverse. After it did it kicked out a few times. At the hit fluid can be seen spraying out. Some must have gotten under the tires. No games being played staging. Only mechanical issues and the video shows it. Thanks for everyone's concern. We have a plan worked out to get it to Norwalks memorial day Nitro Chaos race.

    The world hates a quiter.

Thanks to the overwhelming number of messages from so many people. Right now it's hard to respond to them do to my limited eye sight. It's hard to read them. You can still send them.i will get to them.

Good thing we got the magazine photo shoot in on Thursday evening. It's for a Canadian car magazine.

Brian has been somewhat of an educator in this deal, sometimes using his "less than positive results" as a teaching tool.

Again, as Brian usually is, always positive.
    Glad you are OK!

New update from Brian: I'm at the urgent care. They just told me they are very concerned about the burns. They want me to go to the regional burn center in Milwaukee.
