History 1932 Ford Deluxe 3W Coupe, Murray Body # informal registry,how many are still around?

    Actually the number is a Murray serial number it has no connection to the engine at all. Ford put the body on the ch***is and then at that time the engine designation was stamped along with the Ford identification number. If the car was powered by the 1932 four cylinder engine the letter B into the frame then followed by the Ford serial numbers. If the 1932 Ford V-8 engine was in the frame the number 18 was stamped then followed by the Ford serial number. The letter after the 8520 on my body is A which has no connection to any Ford engine in 1932. The leeter A or B is related to the Murry body only. Not sure what that difference is maybe if it was rumble deck lid or conventual. My body is a conventual trunk lid.

    I don’t think this one has been posted yet. It’s not mine, it was sold at auction last fall for a very reasonable price. The new owner is on the HAMB.
