This metal box Double Dragster Kit Drag Team caught my eye at the last model show I went to Last Weekend. Drag Team Special Edition. Seems Complete, Instructions, Decals Tires. None of plastic is damaged / melted from the Tires witch were bagged. Vender wanted $40. He took $22. He was Happy I was Happy. Yeah!

Seemed like around the early 70s,big Slot-car tracks in/ hobby stores, started popping up. I had not known of them tell getting draged to one, after the real stock car oval got rained out. A racer who drove full size oval race cars, was into the hobby of 1/32 an 1/24 slot cars.
Watched him race the little cars, crash, plus get his **** handed to him by 13 year old,who won 3 slot track races when we were there..
So I looked over the kits an parts, payed for kit,COX GT 40 completeslot kit an a slot car mag.
About a month goes by,our real race track got rained out again.
So did meet up at the slot car track with my race bubby,an had my very first n ready to go?,slot car with me. As kits go,it was pretty good kit to get started with..
It worked ,but took some driving track time, not to fly off in the turns. And yes,I got fully out run by a number of kids. We did 5 races n some practist time. Out ran my buddy in one race...He said I cheeted,by never flying off the track that race, LOL
It kind of became are go to thing, when real races got rained out.
Did get a bit crazy, rewind motors* an trick soft tires with cheeter drops* on them.
After 3 or 4 years, the slot car hobby seemed to be burning out,big hobby shop tracks started being few an far between.
Some were up in the adttic in old box,is old slotcar stuff, under who knows how much other old ****...
A small come back happen in the late 90s,a new hobby shop open with a SCT ans even reated cars to use. It lasted about 5 years before closing. I stopped by 2 times, just to see what they were doing, but it was up in Hollywood Fla, all most a hour drive north of south Miami Fl. were I live.
If you were not in on,that stuff,it's hard to how hobby shops could take up there floor space with big 1/24 Slotcar track>sometimes 2 or 3 tracks of def. shapes n size.
One hobby shop track,I remember had a long straight, and hairpin turn at the end of that straight, only 3 feet from the wall.
Slotcars with way too much speed ,would fly off=hit the wall/so hard;part flyimng every were.
The owner placed a bullseye on the wall, over the marks n small holes in the wall, with a trashcan just below!!.
Don't ask how I know any of that......:rolleyes::confused:
