Hi all, appreciate the opportunity to be part of the group. I've always had a interest in older mechanical things. I have 1934 General Electric and a1949 Westinghouse refrigerators, I am a refrigeration mechanic so this is where the love of old stuff started. I restored a 1951 Ford 8N tractor, totally love the thing, the way it sounds and how it operates. I recently bought a '49 Ford F68. It needs a thorough restoration, I plan on going through the mechanicals 100% first before the bodywork. So far I've found that the engine isn't seized, the transmission shifts through all the gears and the clutch works- at least it feels like it is doing something. It has a pto, but the box or whatever it did is long gone. I hope to add to the discussions and really enjoy browsing the interesting threads.
