Technical 1936 Buick Century Doors

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if I am in the right forum, but here goes. We are a restoration shop and we recently got in a 1936 Buick Century. It is in beautiful shape except the wood in the doors. Not rotted, but broken and splintered in several areas. The door drops and flops around badly when you open it. Was looking for recommendations on where I might get a new wood kit or a good way to reinforce it?

The market for 36 Buick wood is very limited, so I highly doubt anyone is making kits. Although similar Chevy parts might be subs***uted. Here is am older thread that goes into detail:

Or remove wood and replace with metal. It's not easy, and takes time. But it is permanent fix.

 

If running a Restoration Shop, I ***ume the customer wants the car "restored"? The previous posts pretty much summed it up. Not a lot of avenues for wood kits for Buicks, as are parts in general. If the wood is not rotten, probably can glue enough of the pieces together to use as a pattern to make new pieces and replace with the doors on the car for alignment. One of the reasons I opted for a 1940 model-no wood.

Guessing that the Century is a "B" body.
The Pontiac, Olds & LaSalle are likely very similar if that helps.
Don't know if Caddy offered a B body then...
