^^^I built one of those as a kid with a 140hp Corvair in it... I would love to do another one but I don't think I could get out once I got in

 

They're easy to get out of when you roll them!

 

been working on camaro interior..cleaning old stainless trim and drilling holes etc. Had to modify pwr window switch retaining plates because repro panels are considerably thicker. Another all day adventure

 

Headliner got installed today

 

Been helping my pal Tom with his 55, was stored in a garage since 1970. Had a 396 and a turbo 400. He built a 427 and installed it today

Been working on a security door for the house...
I asked AI to make a paint the house,make a gate and then I did it with real paint and real metal..not done and I was out there with the double digits over my shoulder.

I have never scratched the dune buggy itch I forgot I wanted one and my buddy bought one here a few months ago and we went cruising around in it and it relit my fire.

 

I am still working on my dodge "tin grille" pick up But I needed to take a break from it to do maintenance to my other vehicles I've been trying to put in 4 hours a day on any car that I currently own... I don't know if I've really been that successful It's probably more like I'm putting in 20 hours a week which is a little less than I really want to.
So the last five or six days I decided it was time to fix the 1995 Ranger So it would p*** California smog (come to find out it had a split filler neck hose causing its evap leak) So when I had the bed off of it I decided I might as well buff, wax and clean up in between the bed and the cab then that caused me to go down the rabbit hole of cleaning up the entire truck I've had the truck for probably a year and a half now if I had to guess and I had been putting off cleaning it up, I got it pretty mechanically reliable right away And then of course I lowered it because I couldn't leave well enough alone and why have a mini truck that actually is useful so I wanted to make sure it had hardly any payload capacity lol
So I decided to clay bar, buff, Polish, wax and then ceramic coat the paint and it looks pretty good You definitely can see yourself in it now although it's still a 30-year-old paint job that I repainted the tonneau cover the roof in the hood on a few years ago with single stage urethane that isn't an exact match but it's good enough for a driver I also probably spent three or four hours removing the factory Ford decal unfortunately you can still see the ghostly outline of it. Then the next thing I decided to do was polish the rocket wheels I realized I could bolt them on the rear of the truck and just using electric drill with a buffing wheel and mother's aluminum Polish, I also bought some duplicolor I think it's called graphite gray wheel paint and painted the centers Not to pat my own back but They look good.
Anyways here is that truck hopefully I am done with it for a while I got to drive it for one or two days to get the test readiness codes off of it and then I will get it smogged... I'm still trying to figure out why we are smogging 1976 though 1995 vehicles but I digress.

 

He had a family emergency and sadly had to sell it...

 

They are ridiculously fun! Cheapest car I own and while you mya have to wipe the occasional bug from your face you will never wipe off the smile. You cannot, let me reiterate, you cannot be in a sour mood whilst driving a dune buggy. In a car you may "salute" and holler at lousy drivers (so many) but you don't do that in a dune buggy. You are out there in the open, wearing a tee shirt and Ray Bans with a **** eatin grin on yer face.

If I were a doctor, rather than anti-depressants I would be writing prescriptions for dune buggies. Thank you Bruce Meyers!

 

Love it! The gothic design is fantastic. I have been considering the same idea for my entry. I want to add a delivery feature for Amazon and the like. Maybe an electronic lock in case I'm not home and my Summit stuff is sitting on the porch.

 

I've got the road runner and the Ford behind it to work on. The truck has 60k on it and just needs odds and ends.

The road runner was an old cut up race car so I keep running into things to work around. Not that I'd be getting it done any faster if it wasn't.

 

My new project arrived Monday evening. it is a running, driving, 52 Plymouth Suburban 2 door wagon. I know its going to need a few things done, but today was already booked solid. Tomorrow we get the chance to look into it to see what we want to change. This body sits on a 97 Dodge Dakota donor frame, has the full 3.9 EFI V6, OD auto trans, drive train, has new brakes, new PS pump, new rack & pinion steering, modern gauges, an aluminum radiator, new tires, and a new windshield & rubber gasket. Its going to be my wife's summer ride.

Her first impression just before she moved it over on the driveway. She is already creating a wish list.

Lookin great my friend . Not sure if you ever drove one of those or if you’re going to drive that one when finished or not . I worked on a fully restored one a few years ago . At 35 MPH it’s really scary . Seems as it will be on the side at any moment , sawin on the steering is as good as one can expect it to handle . It’s a true off road cl***ic .

 

Nah it's a customer vehicle. They've spent a lot of money on the ch***is. It's all tubular stuff, built Windsor, etc. But I know Nothing about it, that stuff doesn't interest me much lol.

I have everything but the wipers on the firewall - time to start sorting out the wiring


I've got a problem where the bodyshop didn't seam seal between the quarter and the quarter extension before painting. You can see daylight through the gap.



I tried weatherstrip and strip caulk, both turned out looking like hell. I'm down to the last option to tape the ever-loving **** out of the visible painted surfaces and gob caulk or seam seal to fill it, trusting the tape to save the paint.

I went ahead and stuck the tail lights in it because those and the extensions can be removed as one part.


That's a fresh Tri-City replated bumper under the car. You don't want to know how much that cost.

 

I have been working on a project witht the help of my grand kids , ages 3,4,4 and 7.
Hope to have them driving in the not to distant future.
