I don’t think AI in and of itself is necessarily scary, but the people who have access to it can be. Using AI to summarize research papers is something I do a lot. It saves me hundreds of hours. Think about 200 scientific papers discussing the outcomes of a particular surgical procedure. Summarizing all that data would take me weeks. With AI, I can reduce that to a day or two.
Personally, I don’t use it to create images, but rather to enhance images to give me inspiration or options by which to make decisions.
I recently created images of my ‘29 to look at hood and top options (I think I like the tan top better). So this is more of a hybrid use of AI. Now, when AI can start thinking on it’s own and acting on its creations, I’m outta here

That's awesome Jeff. I like your views on how it's fitting into your way of doing business both in career and Hotrod...are all those images edited in AI. You are absolutely right that input images have pretty positive outcomes. That is pretty good cropping of the Hotrod in those multiple images.

I like the Tan top too...but black is right up there too...and a black top would qualify for 3Wlarry's long tenured Thread...those images are pretty amazing really...

I've yet to have AI take over anything regarding artwork yet. I tell it what I want...mind you it does make suggestions based on your input which is in essence taking your thoughts and trying to offer you an easy way out...I have taken those AI prompts and edited them to take control of the suggestion though but I still enjoy writing all I want to see...

 

Its not AI, its an actual piece of great artwork done by Dougl*** Fraser, it was published in a annual publication, known as " Communication Arts ". No shovel needed!

Here's a picture of what the car looks like currently, so you can see what AI did for me. Still making choices on top, firewall color, and a few other details like louvers on the hood...

 

I won't, but I use it and enjoy it as another tool for creating my visions...I always say that we as physical Artists are like AI in sense as we think of something and do it. Our prompts are in our head. In the case of AI I take my thought and type it into the program. It's actually a bonus to anyone who is a visionary writer.

I do to the best of my ability what I can to leave other Artists out of my wants/prompts as I want randomness not something like a woman done in the style of Alphonse Mucha or a boat on a pond done like Monet...and yes that does happen. I think true Artists that use AI are more moral and ethical...that said there are always those that don't. Non Artists are likely more apt to do whatever they want...this is of course my opinion. Everybody is in charge of their own moral and ethical standards here.

 

I thought the 3rd image was real...crazy eh...It is that convincing...which platform were you using? Most of my recent stuff was done through NightCafe which provides numerous Models to chose for creations for free or even more for paid subscription. There are many others...

Thanks again for sharing your adventures in AI. It certainly has a practical place without the doom but I get there's a sinister side.

Many moons ago when I was a *****le in my Mom and Dads eyes he took a pic of my Mom on his Plymouth...She was dressed to the nines so maybe it happened that night......I unfortunately lost the pic over my years on the road but still remember it...this is a Photoshop modded AI I did in tribute...I shared it with her, she didn't even remember the pic nor did she say she looked like that, but she was in her prime and wouldn't admit she was at her best...But I do...anyways, enjoy...

I always have a hard time recalling where this thread can be found. Thought I would share my first foray into using ChatGPT. I posted in my build thread, but thought I would share it here as well.
I wanted a 40s era pinup girl created with the phrase “roll like a rebel” as eventually I want one airbrushed onto my speedster.

First was just as stated. Which I like the best.



Second one, I asked for her to be riding a bomb.



Third was in a bathing suit.

 

Had to wait 24 hrs to continue. Haha! Asked it again, but riding a bomb with sharks teeth. It gave me two for one. lol!




Then asked for her to be on a NGK spark plug.



Lastly, racing a hot rod. This is completely botched. Strange.

 

Yes, I agree - the first one is very cl***y, and I like it a lot.
Some of the others are very nice as well. Another example of how AI can be very helpful in creating a desired end product.

I hear of the saying "Giantess" and AI has a tendency to do just that as seen in the Lady in the Roadster...some of the images I've shared also have scaling issues...which can in fact get a p***.

 

Didn’t know that was a thing. It got her thighs wrong plus the plug end of the spark plug.
Might see tonight if it make a logo of the last image.

 

A few more. I wish there was a bit more variety. I guess I’d have to be more specific.

 

That's where I decide to ship the image into Photoshop and do what AI can't seem to get right...it's really good at getting things right but when it f's something up MAN it's not easy to steer it in the right direction...
