Baddest movie car of all time

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by graverobber63, Dec 5, 2005.

  1. Hell if I know for sure, but theoretically I guess it would be like an A/C compressor clutch...

    Maybe...

Or it was just a movie... but that doesn't make it any less BadAss...

70 boss429 4 speed in "Born to Run" is no doubt at the top of my list.

I will always like the Charger from Bullit, the '57 from Return to Macon County, any of Mannix's Mopars, and the T touring Frankie and Annette rode in on in Beach Party. Anyone remember Bonehead's roadster off of the Beach movies? I always liked it, except for a pickup box they threw in the rumble in Beach Blanket Bingo.

I just got a gift certificate to Amazon for my birthday, and it's surprising how many of these movies are not available. I couldn't find Hot Rod, California Kid, or Mad Fabricators.

The Mopar fans didn't mention Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry, or whatever that was called. Maybe they didn't like the ending.

Supposedly Mitcham's '50 Ford "tanker"used in the actual driving scenes survived and is hiding somewhere in KY or TN the last I'd heard. It wasn't the same '50 that blew up downtown. Thunder Road is the ONLY movie that accurately portrayed trippers and the life from all that I've ever seen and is my favorite car movie. My second fav is Greased Lightning with all of those sweet vintage stockers. Believe it or not, a bunch of those coupes and coaches were junked after the filming in '77. In those days, nobody cared as there was no concerted effort to save old circle burners. I wish that they all lived at my house now...:(

If y'all want to see a movie with a bunch of muscle cars, among others including a Camaro circle burner in it, find a copy of "At Close Range" made in the '80s if you can. Starring Sean Penn, Christopher Walken, Mary Stuart Masterson, Crispin Glover, etc, and based on a true story, this is a downright good flick, a great plot with plenty of gunplay including the bullet riddling of a '70 Chevelle S/S.

BTW, one vote for one of my favorite movie cars goes to Doc Hudson in the Pixar movie Cars. Anybody who doesn't love a Fabulous Hudson Hornet ain't got no soul.....:)

  7. My favorite is one you never saw. The GT40 with the camera mounted on it in the movie Gran Prix.
That movie was the ultimate experience for a gearhead.
I have never had the same impression again. It gave me goosebumps.

The bluesmoble from the blues brothers movie.
It trashed a shopping mall, cowboy bar, Nazi pinto, and a ton of others and keep on going. Not bad for a retired cook county police car.

In my opinion, the 1989 Batmobile is the coolest car ever. I'm going to build on as soon as I get a new shop.

Yep. I agree. This one is the winner by a mile. A lot of these cars being posted are movie-magic make-believe, but that Porsche 917 is real! All 1,500bhp of it. Fast? How about 0-60 in 1.9 seconds, 0-200mph in 10.9, and a top end of 245+ (and that was on 1972 era tire technology!) Sure a lot of drag cars can do that, but this thing would do it around corn ers, and would run for 24 hours flat out. The thing was so successfull it was literally banned from motorsports after about 4 years of total domination. Yes, there were even a few licenced and driven on the street.
Nothing compares. To this day it is the most powerful and fastest sports/endurance racing car ever campaigned. -Ben

I kind of liked both the hearses in Harold and Maude. The Caddie his mother makes him get rid of and the Jag he replaces it with. Coolest XKE ever!

Ok, all I'm saying is that it was past midnight, I was walking by a garage down at Rt66 a few years ago, when the car was on display there, and someone I knew called me over and asked me if i wanted to get a picture taken in Milner's duce. I'm just saying...

I think Franco has had 2 clones of the baddest and still owns one that has not been shown and I think the two cars will be together for the first time ever at the San Francisco show in January.
