Wonderful car!!!

All Impalas have their attributes.

In my opinion the zenith or “Chef’s Kiss” Impala was 1962.
It was perfecto.

 

My ´62 was my very first old car that I bought in late 1997 for 7000 Deutsche Mark / about 3600 € or 4000 USD. That was all the money I had at 21. I borrowed gas money from my grandma to get it home. I watched all the gangster rappers on MTV and wanted a 61 Impala to lowride it. Of course I could not find one. After a while I found this 62 in pristine condition.It had 15600 miles on the odometer and I thought that must be 115600 miles. Year later I had the 283 apart for new gaskets, it is clean as a whistle, date codes and everything match, there´s no ridge or wear in any of the cylinders and they are std bore with all the factory crosshatching visible. Only thing it needed were new gaskets. I love this car and will never sell it. It has 25400miles on it now...

 

Daughters' 60, High School 1st car

 

Bought this 64 in the 90's from a guy at work, stone stock (tired) 327/250 hp, three speed on the column, did a 4 speed (Muncie) swap within a month, used an original shifter I had collected, found a nice used shifter boot (still in a car), bought an original floor shift column from a guy in Boise Idaho, painted it in a fine textured turquoise like factory, looked all original, was a fun driving car, would have been a candidate for 327/350 hp engine if I had kept it.

What a stunning example of one of the most coveted (by me) year.
I was always wanting one, but my income kept me in much older cars.
The styling is most cool.
