Well I finially got back to work on my project and did some rust repair/patch panels. I bolted the 41 merc fenders back together and set them up. I think i've decided to cut the wheel well out and move it back to center the wheels instead of moving the wheels forward. Attached is a pic of it how it sits and then a photoshopped pic of the wheel well moved back. Also I may have to narrow the front end so it doesnt sit wider than the rear fenders. Or maybe widen the bed a bit so the rear fenders stick out a bit more. --Erik
Should be a cool look when your done. Maybe you should cut some length from the rear of the front fenders to center the wheels? The front looks a little too long to me.
oh hell no... leave it long! my opinion, move the front axle forward to match the openings... i LOVE the look how it sits long and low like that... dont move the wheel openings at all moving the openings rearward makes the fender look like its on the wrong side of the truck, and like it should be on the back as well. totally out of proportion
If I remember the build correctly it has the S10 front frame section. The best option would be to move the wheel wells. However, I have to agree with Fiddy on the the front end. If it was a straight axle or a M-II I'd move the wheels. Looks good!
that truck looks bitchin... just a thought what if you molded the rear of the fenders to the doors and cut the rear of the fenders to match the door opening and moved the lower hinge so you could open the doors... its a tough visual but i dont have photoshop to show you what im talking about
I'll try some more photoshops tonight and its got a firebird subframe on the front so no solid axle. But with enough work I could move the wheels ahead. Just have to take some fabricating. Thanks for all the ideas I really appreciate it.
