If you have not heard there is another Traditional Drag race event to add to your calendars for next year. Cache Creek British Columbia Canada at the local Airstrip. The Dogwood Dust up is being Organized by Eban Bender. Registration for racers has just opened. A few of us guys from Alberta are going to head west to the event. If you’re within a days drive I would suggest registering early and come join the fun. May 22-24th 2026 Check out the web site https://www.dogwooddustup.ca/ Or follow them on Instagram for more details
Looks like at least 4 of us are going to race. Anybody else’s who’s interested reach out to the organizers. So far it’s a all Roadster field
The car count is slowly ticking up for the race in May. So far not a single Coupe in the mix yet. If you’re in the area come out and race.
11 more days to go registration is closing the 15th of May so if your still trying to decide get going. A few more cars registered to race. View attachment 6715945
The fun has started and the weather looks great. one of the racers had a catastrophic engine failure the day before the event, I packed my Engine I pulled out of my sedan that had been sitting in the garage. We started the swap in the pits at 8AM and he was in the staging lanes making p***es by 1pm. If that’s how the weekend starts off you know it’s going to be fun
I believe they had around 13 vehicles racing, may have been more, but not sure. I drove my model A up for the day on Saturday. The drive up the canyon is beautiful and worth the trip alone. It was a lot of fun to spectate and hang out for the afternoon. I am hoping it happens again next year and I have my 39 ready to race.
I think the final count was 14 cars. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Cool cars hanging out with people who all share a common interest. It’s been a week and my family is tired of me talking about it. We packed up and headed for home on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately my trusty old truck decided it no no longer wanted to pull a trailer up the Rocky Mountains. Transmission failure on the east side of Revelstoke. Leaving us stranded Sunday night 450Km from home. A sensible person would have gotten a hotel and waited for U haul to open up in the morning. But no good story starts with “we had a good sleep and thought about our plan” Instead we figured if I could rave my car as hard as I could for 3 days then why wouldn’t it road trip us home. We unloaded the car from the trailer and started our journey back to Calgary. Bags were pulled out of the truck and loaded into the Roadster I didn’t take many photos as I was focused on getting home safely. Driving a roadster over the Roger’s P*** In the dark was a whole new experience. Finally made it home at 3AM. I had noticed a drive line vibration that seemed to get worse the closer we got to home. The last 20KM was limping the car under 50KPH. The next morning I found a u joint had failed. Seemed the Hotrod gods allowed us to just get home.
