I thought the same thing, black out the vertical bars....I used to do it to my Dad's car back in the 60's with black tape, then take it off when i took the car home!!!!

Would any photoshoppers be willing to photoshop a roll pan with just the upper horizontal part of the stock bumper on this pic? Maybe some different grill ideas too?[IMG]

only my opinion--- Paint the vertical bars in the stock grille body color, making a tube grill look? Your lookin good, I love these cars, bought one a few yrs ago for a young employee that was a one owner dandy unfortunatly it had set on flat tires for a few yrs and the rockers were toasted but an easy repair. I also think the stock bumper is way hip.Its not always about having the most unusual ride, but having one that you can drive and enjoy. The ***-kickin orange example w/punched hood rocks beyond belief, he is very modest saying its not much. Its pure, KIND. Get that baby on the road and ENJOY. Solobo

I don't have any pics, but had one o those in a ragtop and stacked 2 stock grilles one on top of the other, ditched the bumper and modified the pan.Looked pretty cool til Jody Mantooth got drunk and backed over it with a big truck one day.LOL

    Hi.
    Nice job, very cool!
Can you email me with details on what you have done? I have a 68 Impala and have been thinking of customizing it. Always looking for ideas.
For the grille, stainless tubes with fewer vertical supports might look nice. Carry the lines from fender to fender with headlite covers for a smooth look.

    Thanks,
    John

Any suggestions for a new grill on a '62 Impala?

  14. Well, here is a quick pic. I think a '65 Riv grill, hidden headlights and bumper would look good.

Here are a few I think would rule...

Either a '68 Cad Eldo front clip...

Or '69 Riv front and rear bumpers etc...
