We don't sell to the general public either. It's just a liability issue because of the machinery, etc and we are very busy so we don't have time to fetch something from the iron yard for someone. People get pissed off about it but I'd rather them be mad than dead.

That’s how I got hold of a high dollar mountain bike, the neighbor down the street got caught with his pants down and she tossed his stuff on the street. While she was putting his things on the curb she told me to get it if I wanted it, she bought it anyway. :p Needless to say I scooped it up did a repaint and several upgrades and been riding the **** out of it.

I have been known to s**** out things that should have been sold or given away like an *** load of flathead stuff a few years ago, but I needed to get the area cleaned out and didn’t want to deal with the bs of selling the stuff.

  3. Most people don't know or care! I was in Otsego Auto crushers about 25 years ago and someone brought in a complete fairly rust free 32-34 Ford 2 ton truck!

Thank both Hemmer Sr. and Jr (the owners) were there and told the guy to be careful taking the cab off and told them where to set it!

I don't know what the the price of s**** steel per pound is in the states but here in Canada it ain't much. I brought a load of s**** to the recycle yard last summer. After driving through a yard full of broken gl*** and rusty roofing nails with my new tires on my truck I got thirty four dollars for over three hundred pounds of s**** steel. Next time I will put it on the curb and wait for ten minutes for the guy in the in the old truck that looks like it's been in a few roll overs to pick it up.

I bought a nice Tattersfield Chevy six dual intake a few years ago from a guy locally. I guess he was friends with a guy who had p***ed, and the widow was *this close* to having some garage cleanout folks come do their thing. He convinced her to let him take it, sell it, and I ***ume they had worked out the $$ side of it between them. Any money to her is better than her paying for the cleanout service, and the cool old stuff gets to live on.
