I am drooling over the beautiful Case 430 with wide front. I have had three of them all in there works clothes that were great little tractors for all around acreage work. I still have the slightly larger model 530 that is my workhorse. Also love the Ford with the Elenco wide front wheel ***ist conversion ......beautiful rare tractor.
My back hurts just reading your post !! At 79yrs. old, I am just not up to the task anymore. Nice old horsepower in it's working clothes.....I like them that way. Gotta a leaking RR tire with fluid on my 1968 Case 530 that I have to address this weekend.....think the short trip to the Goodyear store adjacent to our property might be the best option.
Excellent engine and along with running a round baler they are also great for pulling a set of five bottom 20" plows across a hillside.
Do you know who owned the Silver King? I am helping a neighbor who is selling an immaculate one, same condition as the photo, but different year.
Tomorrow's the big day for our Ford 8N project: gonna move under her own power. Did the whole little engine.......one thing sure does lead to another on them. Got parts from at least 6 different countries.
How about a factory cutaway A or B John Deere? Or, a “barn built” Steiger? Perhaps a couple of the first JD attempts at articulated 4wds? Edit, one on left is later Wagner built, one on right is first attempt. theres also a scale model steamer powering a miniature sawmill
Probably one of my all time favorite tractors, certainly of the gas prairie tractor era, is the ground t******* big Rumely Oil Pulls.
Picked up another tractor this last fall.... make that 2.... I've always loved the lines of the old 1940's Oliver Row Crop tractors and as I have a son named Oliver, naturally I "have to" add one to the shed. I bought this 1941 Oliver 60 and have been working on getting the various necessities lined up to get it running again, preparatory to getting it restored. Its got an overhead valve 4 cylinder, is going to stay 6 volt, lots and lots of fun mechanical details. A couple of the rims were heavily rusted through and would take about $800 of new rims getting riveted in to get it rolling again, but I found and bought another partially gutted Oliver 60 (a 46') for $200 that has the needed rims, AND, it's got part of an underbelly cultivating rig with it. These old row crops don't have 3 point lift, but I think the old mid-mount cultivating racks were pretty cool, and I've got a PTO attachment for it so it can run hay-making equipment. It's missing the louverd side panels, but they're out there new and used.
A little different than the other tractors in this thread, but this is another one I got into recently, a David Bradley garden tractor. It came with no attachments, but so far I've gotten a plow, cultivator, disc harrow, and a franken-cultivator. Each getting fixed up. At some point it was re-motored with a 1940's Lauson which got a minor rebuild and is running nicely. Biggest problem right now is I'm losing half my power from the clutch slipping and the adjustment for it is rusted solid. Going to keep a it alternating heat, penetrating oil, and patience and hope I can get it apart without breaking things. It needed new tires and the rims needed to be refinished.
Nice looking original Empire tractor. I bought my first Willys Jeep that was on a ranch in Wyoming in 2013. It is an original 1953 CJ3B. As is often the case, I just had to have extra parts and pieces just in case. I ac***ulated lots of parts and several project Jeeps. As part of this, I got an Empire tractor down in Missouri. It was really pretty much stripped and just a carc***. A few years ago I found another running driving Empire. It had been given a blue paint job instead of the original red. Facing increasing medical issues at age 80, I decided to sell everything except the CJ3B and blue Empire. All the parts, pieces and Empire carc*** went to a great guy in the Peoria Illinois area. Have fun.
Yeah, they used everything Jeep they possibly could. This one spent most of her working life with a sickle mower on it.
My FIL just bought a ‘64 Ford 4000 non running figuring he can get it going. I have to stop after work as he hasn’t touched points in a long time and he can’t get spark
These 2 are for sale near me. I would love to have the Versatile, not sure what I'd do with it, but still would love to have it The ****shutt is a g***er, but still a neat one
My grandfather with his Case in the early 60s. He had 2 of these Cases from the early 40s and were still running strong when I was a teenager in the 80s… absolutely loved driving these tractors with their hand clutch and throttle it was like time traveling
