Longtime Denver hotrodder and former owner of Masterpiece Rodding p***ed away June 7th after suffering a series of strokes. I worked for Gary for over 13 years and traveled to many shows and events with him. He'll be missed by all who knew him.
Masterpiece was regular stop when I visited Denver. Bought lots of parts from Gary thru the years. The most prized purchase was the complete 32 Auburn dash and insert with gauges that ended up in my 45 year Avatar deuce 3 window. Rescued me off the top of a mountain when the brakes failed on my deuce 2 door. He did so many thing for me in the 70's & 80's. He was a good man. RIP. You'll be missed. Met Gary at the first Model 40 Meet in Ft. Collins, Co. in 1976. It was always great to catch up and compare notes whenever we got together. Great guy. God speed Gary.
I visited his shop back in the 80’s when I was in Denver, he was gracious with his time and treated me like a regular customer. Rest in Peace.
Rest in peace Gary and condolences to his family and friends. I had his shop do some ch***is work on my '35 Chevy back in '81 after I moved to the Denver area.
Had a nice chat with him at the last Tri-State swap meet. I restored a midget race car for him while he still had Masterpiece. He told me that one of his biggest regrets was getting rid of that car. Best customer I ever had (he knew the drill, and whatever I suggested on the build, he was on board). RIP Gary, you were one of a kind!
