Projects 37 Tudor family hauler/push car

Its been to long since I've had time to work on the sedan. I got heads back from the polisher. I spent a few hours sorting bolts to get enough nice timing cover, water pump and intake bolts for plating. After much thought the engine is going to to be a 293ci (4.250 stroke ) should move this car along better than the 3.750 I was planning on. Also mocked up a fuel line just need to pick up a 1/4" sweat copper tee from the refrigeration supplier to finish it up

I had bolts for these heads from when these heads were on the dragster I couldn't get black in a hurry so I used a sharpie anyway spot faced with the lathe and into the plating pile.

Been distracted with other projects and life finally have it back where I can work on it again. 1st up is to get the body back off the frame. Then the exhaust next. It needed to go under the rear axle for space constraints and easy to remove for maintenance ect. I haven't made up my mind on the headers or mufflers I can deal with that down the road after I get some miles on it and see how it sounds with the new engine. I also pulled the original brake cable pivot to modify for park brakes, Yuck what a scungy pos right to the hottank lol

Where did you get the new gl*** from. I'm in Ontario but need the same.

 

Have you thought about taking the hump out of the trunk, to make the profile flow better?

 

Toms auto gl*** in Chilliwack bc. cut from my temples was super cheep and quick

 

Maybe I'm just trying to get out of hard work but I don't mind a the mind the hump

I appreciate that. I feel very strongly about the importance of the hamb and everything it's done for me as well as the community.

 

A bit more progress. I decided to backtrack a bit and add a notch for the rear spring and add boxing plates for support while I wait on some missing hardware. I was originally going to put longer shackles and a couple leafs so the spring didn't hit the frame but I think this will better all around outcome. I think it will still need 41-42 shackles but that's life lol

Out of curiosity, why did you place the tool in the lath chuck and the bolts in the tail stock? I don't imagine it matters, but it caught my eye.

The end mill shank is bigger then the drill chuck will fit if I remember correctly

Welding and park brake guide tubes. Hard to explain but the cable s need to drop down and under to match the jog in the wishbone

 

Excellent build and coverage great welding and all round thought process. Can you or maybe someone else on here Photoshop your car with the front grille tilted back a little like a Lincoln Zephyr
I know doing it would be a lot of work shortening the hood and adding a wedge shape at the top of the grille reshaping the hood sides etc but man I think your car might just look great and I know you have the skills to ace it.

 

The thought of changing all angles of the grill bars gives me anxiety I do love the look of a zephyr hahahaha
