I was thinking about getting a dropped axle for my 52 chevy truck. Was wondering if there is anyone out there running one of these, and what brand it is, and where you bought it... I know speedway sells them but they are just tube with milled ends on it, anyone make a full I-beam axle? I'd like to see some pictures too if you have some
    Thanks,
    Me-oh

My dad has one on his 53 that he bought from C.P.P. It took them 5 months to ship it to him though.

  4. If you search the H.A.M.B O'Dex section, there is a fellow that is offering to lower your own axle if you ship it to him. Has very good feedback from other HAMB'ers. I plan on doing this next year for my 54. Other than that you can check out this site to see theirs. I think it is kinda the same as CPP. http://www.cenpen.com/truckaxles.htm

for about half of what cenpen(which is a tube axle) costs you could pm loudpedal and see if he still drops these axles, he did mine.

  7. I have a MORDROP 3" in mine. When I built the truck I wanted a 2". When I called Mordrop, he said he had 3's in stock but a 2 could take months before he ran another batch. I have no complaints about what I got. It's an original and it's real low. I would recommend the SSB stainless kingpin kit with bearings. It made a great difference in steering effort.

Do you know what the 3" Mordrop axle is going for?

Loudpedal dropped my front axle and did a great job on it with super fast turn-around time. Sandblasted it & magnafluxed it after it was dropped. Toss him a PM.

Here a pic of the one he did for me (the black on the center webbing is some of the old paint)...........
