History Model T and A parts what am looking at...?

S**** guy l buy stuff from has a pile of old Ford model T and A parts...?.. he bought last weekend.

Looks like heads, engine, covers, pistons, crankshafts, and cast parts to hold body work up?? Half dozen water pumps and radiators.... Sheet metal also.

There's a frame in the gr*** l think is a A frame, no picture.


Only had time for a few pictures. He took 8k pounds to s****yard already, the rest is going this weekend.

If anyone recognizes any parts for T and A please post.

Yup. Not a ton of value with a quick sale, but surely there are guys out there that need it. The A stuff is an easier sale than T stuff.

 

Common pieces that are cheap at any parts swap - and sometimes free at estate sales.
Shipping is the problem - A trans that shape is $10-30 and crating shipping is $100. Front covers are $5 and a USPS it fits it ships box is $20.
I'd wager the local A clubs have picked over the hoard for the last few months and this is what didn't sell.

 

I would take the pile to a local automobile swap meet and put a sign that says "$5 Each Your Choice" with the exception of the transmission which I would price it at about $25.

 

Sad to think that was probably part of some guy's lifetime collection (or junk ac***ulation) of parts.

 

Where are you located? First pic: I see model T flywheel model A transmission, Model T transmission cover 2nd pic fender braces, camshafts Model A timing covers, Model A water pump, Model T steering column, T crankcase lower cover. Under the water pump looks like a Model A bellhousing 7th pic I see a ring gear and differential parts lower left as well as a headlight bar and looks like a Model T accessory water pump to the right.

It was a four generation family farm place that got cleaned out on a auction that no one showed up to. S**** prices.

 

So you're going to buy it from a s**** guy and save it for another s**** guy? As a Model A guy since 1968, there is very little value in any of that stuff. Why waste your time?

I could probably buy a dozen of those for $5 each at most swap meets around here.

They SIT on FLeaBay @35 - they sell at swap meets in SoCal for $5 - $10 if clean and painted. Water pump cores are $5 and no body wants them because everyone buy a new leakless one for their car.

 

About to get on the interstate, at the bar studying up on Model T parts.
Couple hours I'll post pics of what l bought.

 

At least looking at T&A is fun.

 

Walk the rows of HERSHEY and by the end of the day you will see dozens of Model A cam gear covers for $5.00. By the end of the flea market you will see the same parts for sale. I have been involved restoring Model A's since 1968 and Model A cars and parts just don't sell. I have had my '29 Business Coupe listed for sale for months with out one call. I don't care what anything is listed for on E-Bay, what did it sell for is another story.

 

Maybe nobody else is interested but I'd be interested in some of those parts.

Misc stuff.... Brand new carbide burrs. Mld A radiator cap...Two Mdl T necks and caps.




Porcelain Fairbanks sign... Two NOS Mdl T crankshafts... Vintage no tractor lug sign... Ford hubcap?.




Misc old car gages... Dodge Brothers.

 

ALL of that was 100 bucks? I'd say you did real good. Some of those bits are going to be slow movers/a hard sell but there's a lot of good there too and that was cheap. I've sold a bunch of the items you have there on eBay and done pretty well, there's always someone looking for fender braces, headlight bars, good wood wheel hubs, that A heater thing, etc. Some sweet wall hangers in that pile too, that was more than worth it just for that.

And even if some of the other stuff takes a long time to sell or doesn't make you rich, I for one am glad someone went and saved it, none of that **** is going to get any easier to find in the upcoming years.

 

That two gauge cluster must be the old vintage Aftermarket one made to fit on the bottom of a Model A cluster. It would be pretty popular for putting it on a barn find Model A, because it doesn't look like a new repro.

 

I am doing the same thing by helping clean out a garage full of A parts. Most I am giving away as I just want them to go to a good home.

cast iron T pistons are s**** iron. Nos T cranks would be interesting if marked "EE" on the end. Those are late T, better steel

 

$100.00 for everything. It was all s**** metal prices, dude doesn't care if l bought or he hauled it in.

 

I know what I would do(am doing) but if I said it a number of folks on here would complain.

 

Good for you! You’ll be in profit just selling the swirly blue shift knob and porcelain sign.
