Staff SGT John Basilone. A solder before he was a Marine, received the Medal Of Honor during WWII. Asked to return to battle after war bond tours, he was killed at Iwo Jima. I believe he was a Gunny SGT when he was killed. Theres a road in Camp Pendelton named for him.

 

You can see they tried to up scale the Valiant...didn't quite work.
