It makes perfect sense. On the I Love Lucy show there is a series of episodes where they leave for Hollywood and buy a Pontiac convertible to drive there. It's kind of funny as in some of the scenes the car's windshield is out of the car and the chrome is painted due probably to the bright lights on the film set that would reflect off of it.
