That photo reminds me of the one I found back in 2020. I was doing a research on Craftsman Houses in So Cal and found this gem of a photo.

We grew up in an old Craftsman house on the Westside of Long Beach. It had wood siding, two bedrooms, built in bookcases and shelving as well as individual panes in French doors and windows. My wife and I have always liked the old style Craftsman style and did have some remnants in our home decorating over the years. Modern desert succulents, plus low water need plants give the updated Craftsman homes some upgrades.
While looking for different styles of Craftsman houses, I came across this gem sitting in the driveway of a $1 mil + house in So Cal. It looks like a chopped Studebaker Truck with a custom bullet nose. Appletons and portholes in the lowered hood, round out the obvious. Because of the shade trees in the area the paint could be a dark primer, as the shade may have created a two-tone effect on the truck.

The more I look at this custom truck, it actually looks sectioned, too. The overall height is too low for just a lowered chopped truck. The patio chair barely fits in the doorway.

It was mentioned that it was seen at the 2010 Grand National Roadster Show. Is this the same Studebaker Truck? There are a lot of similarities in both photos.

The Appletons look the same. There are two portholes in the hood. There is a little chrome trim over the center bullet grille. Also, there are wiper nubs but no blades. In the found photo, the headlights look like a non-stock seal beam, but high powered, high intensity lamp. In the Craftsman House photo, the headlight mirror reflector can be seen through the bushes. The stance, looks very low in both photos.

In its early form or primer stage?

The Studebaker, primered truck just seems like the same truck in the Craftsman House photo painted differently. It was just one of those things that kept nagging for more research. Does anyone have a bunch of photos from the 2010 Grand National Roadster Show, either inside or outside?

The only other bullet nose custom truck was on an old TV series from back East, similar nose, but not chopped. This So Cal version had many things going for it. The custom Studebaker truck might be for the young and flexible, as the entry and egress would be challenging for old creaky bones and joints.

It has a 1955 hood but the side paint/trim looks like 1957 up.....grab it if you can !

 

Anybody making plans to come down Dallas way for the National Studebaker Meet in September - 23-25 I'm sure.....hasn't been down this way since Austin,Tx in about 1998.....drove my Daytona down there....

 

1955 3/4 ton with a 259 and 4 speed. Been sitting in my backyard waiting for some affection for about 15 years now.

 

Hey fellas ,, i have a studebaker truck gauge cluster i want to graft into my 27 tudor dash , im missing a few pieces , sombody cut the capilary on the temp gauge , i need a 2 wire fuel sender and what kind of a fitting goes on the oil gauge ? a male compression nut ? its very small ,, any guidance or pieces parts that can help PM me , im not afraid to ask or buy ,, thanks in advance ...
