This thread reminds me of the 1941 Chevrolet fire truck that was purchased the same time as my grandfather joined the Searsport Fire Department. That was his favorite truck, and he often drove it in the annual parade and numerous emergencies during his 50 years. I have a few memories with that truck over the years. When he p***ed away in 1992, it was parked in front of the church for his service, and it's still in the fleet today.
