I have been enjoying the last few pieces of your art, that you have been contributing to the "FAS".

So I have to ask, is this a type of computer program that you are using?

Or is this the real thing where its a piece of black coated scratch board that you are literally using a sharp stylus to scratch away sections of black ink, to make these incredible pieces of art?

If its true scratch board, then in my opinion you are at a level of precision that rivals @Jeff Norwell .

I truly do appreciate fine detail.

When I found our Model A Coupe hidden under a canvas tarp, it was only a few miles away from our house. I had seen it covered under a tarp, while walking to school. It was visible, although, the yard was overgrown. So, I told my brother I found a nice car for the first build.

The old lady who owned the house and car could not get it out of the backyard fast enough, when she heard my brother ask, “Do you want to sell your old Model A Coupe?” He offered what he thought was a good deal and she said, “ I will cut it in half if you take it right now.”


So, for the next hour, we cut and s****ed out the weeds and made a trail to the concrete pad. Then we used our big boat dock line to get it tight and pull it out of the tall weed location. As we got it straitened out, we push/pulled it out to the street and lined it pointed toward our house a few miles away.

We were both sweaty and happy at the same time. He drove his 51 Olds and I waited for the rope to tighten, so I could steer the old Model A Coupe home. There were only a couple of times when the rope went slack and tightened with a jerk. A deep culvert across our street was a slow down and bump over situation I had not ever encountered. So, obviously, I let off the brake pedal and coasted. Then, I had to brake to not bottom out or get out of control. By the time my brother continued on his throttle, the rope tightened and bang, a tight rope situation created a loud noise as I got pulled forward again.

Finally, we got it home, cleaned it up and started our backyard hot rod project. Instantly, my brother had ideas for a motor from an SBC to a Hemi motor and a supercharger like we saw on a lot of FED race cars at nearby Lion’s Dragstrip.
SBC supercharged power for entry into different cl***es other than A/Gas. At the time, if we screwed in original Moon Discs, we could run them in the Gas Coupe Cl***. That was an option. We had no money for Mags…YRMV
Possible Mag wheels...
The other option was to make the motor simple SBC street power and add on a Paxton Centrifugal Supercharger. That seemed to be the best option.

But, on the other hand, for those wanting a stock appearance, but powerful motor, Model A wires in a custom mode… with the hood down, it would be a true sleeper... and daily driver. YRMV

Moooo lol . Since this is OT I figured it was safe to post . I made this for a guy who gave me a hand full of water valve knobs . I use the knobs for flowers

 

41 GMC. Thanks. I used to be a professional illustrator off and on between my car design jobs. Photo real acrylic paintings and inked phantom view drawings were my specialty. Art supplies are too expensive these days. I create very accurate line drawings and play around with PS and Canva. It's been a few years since I created these and the software that I used to clean and punch them up doesn't exist anymore. Just start experimenting.
Here is my old Effie that used to be a horse farm truck. I added the 56 grille.

And now for something completely different...
Quarter scale model of a Beetle influenced 3 wheeler. Sculpted in clay, then plaster mold, then fibergl*** shell.

 

My version of a sketch 'build thread' from this weekend's Greenwood Car Show in Seattle.

 

Great work, good clean lines and great perspective, excellent colors as well, nice to see stuff that is different and is actually done by hand. Its the little imperfections that make it appealing to the eye, at least my eye that is.

4TH OF JULY STATION WAGON EXTRAVAGANZA

1961 409 TWO DOOR Chevy STATION WAGON

Hello,

For the 4th of July weekend, here is a version of a station wagon that was missing from the factory back in 1961. Red, White and custom Blue...

The series of custom station wagons was to make up for the fact that the factory missed the mark on design and power combination during this time period. Station wagons were moved to the family camping-road trip vehicles instead of cool cruising station wagons. 4 doors instead of nice 2 door station wagons were the mode of the day.

So, for the upcoming holiday festivities, the cool colors/ design makes up for the error from the factory designers and honchos that decide what is good for the consumer or not.

Most station wagons came with v8 power, but it was a hard sell to be able to get a 409 powered v8 motor and 4 speed in one of those 4 door station wagons the dealers provided to the public.

So, 409 power, a 4 speed, Positraction and room to sleep and store items in the back all provided by a nice two door station wagon for the “cool kids…” not factory approved or built, obviously… YRMV

But, wait, how about a first time custom king cab style for more room inside of a regular El Camino?

I was in my 20s for the 1976 Bicentennial and it seemed like the whole country was united in celebration.
This Semi-quincentennial feels very different...sadder.
