Technical Anybody recognize what car they came from?

I just bought a beautiful 1940 Ford sedan. They redid the interior and use power seat units to operate them. The plastic housing has broken on the motor so I need to replace the units but I don’t know where to get them. I’ve attached some pictures, any help is appreciated,

Crazy as it sounds, I think those are GM "J" body power seats. The trim cover design looks like they came out of a Cadillac Cimarron.

 

The wiring sequence looks GM for sure, maybe Caddy

I don’t think you’re getting enough zinc in your diet.

 

One place that sells the switch bezel says it fits 77-92 GM cars.

Not sure how accurate you need your "what did this come from" to be?

 

Jim, he at least needed to know what brand of vehicle, and an approximate year range for the seats, before he can start looking for replacement parts. When a guy buys a vehicle with unknown seats in it, he has to have someplace to start looking from.

 

The drive/gear box appears to be from a 1979-87 GM B, C & G body (full size and mid size rwd cars). Reproduction cases are available on Ebay and not expensive. I just finished putting one together for our off-topic Olds wagon. The cases are nice reproductions but they do need a bit of fine tuning (sanding/grinding) to get the motor input shaft and gears to move freely and not bind.

You’re right Jim, but that was the best I could do at the time. I have an injured foot and couldn’t get additional pictures! And I didn’t want my wife to catch me hobbling around in the garage!

 

Same switch plate and controls as on mine. 90’s Chevy Astro conversion van.
Can’t look at the motor as they’re covered up from moving.
