Technical Cruisne control 48 Ford Car.

I am looking for cruisne control for 48 Ford Car. Has stock engine with 270 CID m with C-4 auto. Thanks

 

More info needed:
6 Volt Positive ground (stock electrical system)
or
12 Volt Negative ground (modified electrical system)?

 

Something like this Rostra is typical for 12 volt hot rods driven long distances.

Over the years, I have successfully installed these Rostra cruise control kits on the following.
1962 Volvo PV544 - 5 speed manual trans conversion
1966 IH 1/2 ton pickup truck - manual trans
1971 IH 3/4 ton pickup truck - auto trans
1975 IH Scout - auto trans
1986 Ford 1/2 ton pickup truck - 5 speed manual trans conversion - EDIT: This truck was driven to 37 states and is currently owned (and in daily use) by an extended family member).

Some of these cruise control installations obtained the speed signal input from the stock speed sensor on the transmission or an after market VDO speed sensor that matched the aftermarket VDO speedometer.

Other installations obtained the speed signal input from magnets fastened to the driveshaft.

NOTE: There is a significant learning curve involved in setting the DIP switches (10 switch positions if my memory is correct).

I usually get the dip switches right the first or second try now, I've installed the globalcruise in around 20 different vehicles over the years.

 

Brake lights dis-engage the cruise when activated. (You prolly knew this!)
What I learned the hard way is.....it doesn't work when using LED bulbs ! An old fashion incandesent and bingo ! Since I modded my M-word tail lights with an extra bulb I ran one incandesent and one LED. Worked fine.
Something about LED's not having enough resistance for the cruise to work right.
ALSO....don't try to fool it and run the car while jacked up off the ground...it won't engage that way either. Gotta be driving it to make it engage. Works BETTER than a lot of factory cruises....

I've had trouble with the older turn signal switches and the globalcruise, I have added a relay to the stop light switch connection, to make sure it doesn't kick off when using the turn signals.

 

I'm confused.
I guess I practiced Cuisine Control eating all those ribs last Saturday.
