Do you realize there are probably no actual F100 parts on that vehicle? Most of what you are ***uming are 50s Ford truck parts are simply bent sheet metal, or may even be fibergl*** or some other easily formed material.

It didn’t. That is a Daihatsu Midget II from the late 90s, heavily modified. The Midget II was a kei truck, a Japanese cl*** of cars and trucks that is limited to 660cc and has a pretty small maximum allowed length & width. On this particular Midget, the roof, windshield surround and possibly the doors are the only unmodified sheet metal. I suspect that the F-100 ‘sheet metal’ is fibergl*** and hides the spare tire. The Midget was popular with urban beer distributors in Japan because it could haul a couple of kegs through the narrowest of alleys. This one has an automatic transmission. The jump seat that is visible was only available with the automatic because the manual’s shifter interfered with the jump seat. Even with the jump seat, realistically, it was only a 1½ seater.
Since 90% of the trips I make are under 5 miles, I’ve thought about replacing my old Nissan pickup with a kei truck.

Maybe that tire mounted on the hood is more for front collision protection .....

That was actually featured in several different magazines back in the 90's, the builder was kind of well known and seemed to have a car featured almost yearly.
I seen this one at the Merc Deuce Reunion, or was it his red car, hmmm

The turbocharged ones will get up to the low 60s, but you really have to wring them out to get there. They are around-town vehicles, and are the most fun under 50mph.

I didn't think of that when I accepted the insurance company's settlement check...

Actually, in retrospect, cashing the check was a great idea...
