I do or did everything in my Rainbows. Those Giant ladders scare me, it's like a multi tool, it does everything just does it poorly and I've done some sketchy things with 2 double sided A frame ladders and an aluminum plank. For as much lighting and upper space that's in there, just get a used scissor lift or forklift if you have 2 people all the time.
Thanks for being the example of 'doing it wrong' and posting as a warning to others. Makes you wonder what the stats are for moving injuries! Glad both of you only suffered elevated heart rates. Hope you burnt that strap, not tucked it in a box for future mischief.
You would win the first prize in the Corporate OSHA (acronym for oh ****) Safety world of everything not to do. But no one got hurt….. so chalk it up to oh ****.
I totally respect your decision to sell your property and relocate to Colorado @Ryan I have always admired that incredible man cave, work shop, Atomic headquarters building that you are now leaving behind! It would literally kill me to have to leave such a cool building behind, but that is fresh old news at this point! Did the pallet of NOS Union tool boxes find a new owner, or are they going to live in Colorado as well! Thanks from Dennis.
Oh man, Keith is lucky you didn't **** on him! Ryan, that's your mulligan-you're officially grounded. Ladder falls can be bad. I did 34 years doing overhead line work, climbing ladders, gaffing poles and never had a mishap. Then my mulligan: on a day off at home, I fell from the top of my 28' ladder t******* a pine. Had all my climbing gear on but skipped belting-in (DUMB choice!) because I was only cutting one limb. Reached out with my Stihl 201 to make a one handed cut. One ladder leg wheelied and down I went, landed flat on my back with the ladder on top of me, still holding the running saw in one hand and the top rung in the other. Only damage to me was it knocked the wind out of me something fierce. Congrats on the move!!!
