My '36 PU with 327 had front & (stock CI) bellhousing engine mounts only - no trans mount for the Muncie, it worked perfectly. No experience with aluminum bellhousing applications tho.

Yeah, nice clean install but it didn’t work for me. Probe will need to be submerged next to thermostat. If you do decide to try it, get yourself a $25 thermal gun from harbor freight and confirm your actual temperature.

That's strange that it didn't work for you its a water inlet outlet for the heater core so its getting plenty of hot coolent in theory anyways I'll find out as I don't want to drill a hole in that Crager intake.

That sounds like you had an air pocket that didn't get bled out of the system.

@hrm2k - The kids in those imports have nothing on you! That's worthy of a clear hood. If it runs as good as it looks, you know... A friend had a mid engine turbo decades ago. The whine behind the mind is fine!

A little more progress, I updated the OEM shift gate and added Park & OD but lost the ability to engage lower gears until gate is modified further. These Hydramatics didn't feature a Park detent. For all intents and purposes it appears original. I just need to file another detent into casting. I had new shift ****ons 3D printed with the face plate milled to accept an additional ****on. I've NOS gear position/lamp ***embly and horn contact to finish off

I finally got the steering box I took apart last year together. After cleaning, polishing, adjusting, and painting it, I got it done. I installed a new sector shaft seal and spent some extra time to adjust the box. The parts I reused were not new and I had trouble adjusting the spring scale pull at the steering wheel. The worm gear on the shaft must have been worn slightly more on the center than on the ends which after adjusting made the resistance more at the ends of the shaft worm gear than in the center of the shaft worm gear. I adjusted it DSC01367.JPG DSC01368.JPG DSC01369.JPG snug at the center and slightly higher resistance on the ends. still almost within specs and I'm happy with the results so far. I will let you know when I have it on the road. I filled it with Castrol SAE 140 D oil and will top it off when I'm done. Next on to the column. A surprise coming at the end! Any guesses!

Ran into a little snag on the olds 303 the adaptor ring hit the presure plate, had 2 options find a long pressure plate with a diaphragm bolt pattern or replace the bell housing l chose a bell housing and Speed Gems sent me out one. Got it bolted up now I have to figure out the hydraulic through out bearing. 20260718_150705.jpg

It was really hot so performance was down. I did however find my problem with the cars performance drop i have been experiencing ever since I got it going after it's 7 year nap. I will update my build thread when I get home later today.

Bolting the front fenders on friend's 57, I ran into a problem, no mounting tab! so I fixed it.

Hopefully the pictures tell the story.

Stripping paint from my 1950 Ford column tube with my wire wheel. No big deal. I forgot about the grinding wheel on the other side. Dang if it didn't bite me! All gooder!

I got the used fender shot blasted and quickly put a few coats of white epoxy on the outside and marine grade red oxide type paint on the inside. I'll revisit the front rust patch later but for now I just wanted to get the fender sealed asap what with the high humidity at the mo. Its gapped up pretty good but will be better when the excess filler is removed from the lower front door and they are patched properly. Installed an oil cooler for the trans. Removed the rear bumper for some mild straightening prior to going for replating along with the front end chrome. I was ill prepared for the weight of it when I took out the last bolts and it bounced off my chest . While it was off I took the chance to clean up the paint etc behind it and fit some nos indicator/reverse light lenses (will fit the lower ones when the correct screws arrive). Carried out another block coolant flush using Wynns (damn you previous owner for running it on just water). The Wynns seems to have done the trick this this time (damn me for cheaping out using a plain water flush prior) :D. Oh, and fitted the newly spruced up heater matrix box without core. The flow into the radiator has never been better and the car runs so much cooler.
