Folks Of Interest Lost A Good One!

I lost a good friend and we lost another hot rod guy. Dave Schlichting p***ed away this week from ALS.
I just returned home from the wake and know this was the best thing giving his quality of life .
I will remember all the fun we had at many events like our Hershey trips.
Dave loved cars and his 40 Ford pictured in front of the funeral home today was one he owned for many years. He also had a 34 and 32 coupes.
Last thing I wanted to say is I watched this guy fight this thing for a long time and his spirit was always positive. Never once heard him complain.
Like I said “ We Lost A Good One”
Rest in Peace old friend!

Hate to "like" any one of these kinds of posts, but glad you and he had fun and great times in life together. Sorry for all his friend's and family's loss...... Looking at that '40, he obviously had fantastic taste in hot rods.

Sorry for your loss. He sounded like someone I would have loved to have known. Praying for everyone affected by this loss. On a positive note, he had one cool 40 coupe.

He worked for a local Chevrolet dealership as a mechanic for many years until they closed, then for the town maintenance crew.

Sorry for your loss

 

So very sorry. I lost a long time friend a few years ago to Parkinson's and shortly after another one to cancer. It breaks your heart and leaves a hole in your life each time that it happens. Car events are just not the same anymore when they were always there.

Thanks Everyone! I just returned home from the burial. It was quite emotional. Also uplifting. Hard to explain, but it was all the way Dave. Good friends with touching memories and stories. The Pine box Dave insisted on. Dave even wanted his 9mm buried with him, however not possible.

I just lost my second high school cl***mate to ALS. Is it just me, or is this disease becoming more common lately?
