Hot Rods Diamondback White walls

Hey Fellas,

Could any one want to share their experience with DB Tires, more specifically how long they stay white, customer service,ect. And are they worth the money. Thanks Guys in advance. BTW my Weber’s white walls even turned yellow

 

I have DB "littles" on the front. They use production tires that are available almost anywhere and vulcanize the whitewall to them.

Mine are Nankang brand. I had DB shave the lettering on the outside.

Purchased and installed June 2019. 18k miles. The Whitewalls look like new. Treadware is very acceptable.

I only clean the whites, maybe once a year using Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

I'm happy with them.

 

Going on 4-5 years with mine. Also note the exhaust comes out right in front of the rears. I wipe them down maybe 1-2 times a year and they've held up great!

 

Very happy with my DB whitewalls They have outlasted the date codes on the back tires. If you clean them with simple green and a soft scrub sponge they will stay shiny white for thousands of miles.

 

The ones on the Taboo are 6ish years old and still bright white. The ones on the 61 Impala are just a year old and while they are not yellowing, I have had a harder time keeping them clean.

 

I threw away 2 sets of Cokers, after changing to Diamondback tires. I now have them on 3 cars. They ride smoothly and the whitewalls don't turn brown. A little Simple Green will clean them right up. Diamondback Tires are "Round, not Brown".

 

Been using DB tires forever. Three different sets without any problems. Expensive, but you get what you pay for....if you're lucky!

 

I have DB Auburn Deluxe WWs on my 41 PU.
Here they are brand new in 2021

And here they are a couple weeks ago. I have cleaned them once or twice with purple cleaner and a red scotchbrite. They are incredible and well worth the price IMHO.

@Kim Strobeck just bought a new set for his 31, they shipped and should be here shortly. They are not cheap but good stuff rarely is.

 

14 years so far, so good.

I've had Diamond Back white walls on my 40 for several years. I clean them with Simple Green as suggested by DB and they look like the day I put them on

 

10 is my self imposed limit. My cars don't sit out in the sun except when I drive them to a show or cruise in, so UV exposure is limited.

 

Mine are 14 years old as well and look like brand new.

 

Your location says; "East Bay". Are you referring to East Bay as in SF Bay? If so, you should consider Calli Tire just north of you in SacTown. I have run one set of Diamondbacks and also ran a couple sets of Callis, but definitely prefer the Calli whitewalls.
The sidewalls on my DB's began to bubble and come apart ...

 

I've been running DBtire on the back of my Avatar for 10,ooo miles. I use Simple Green and a terrycloth wash rag . People ask me how do I keep my whitewall's so white. All I use is Simple Green.

 

I’m not happy with the 14 years, but they were off and covered up for 8 of those years in a building. There were no cracks when I put them back on. The car is always garaged in so cal and out every weekend. Freeway driving is limited although 70 mph s normal when I’m on one.

 

Most of them don't do long hard road trips with the cars that they are on so it isn't as much of a worry. I wouldn't want 10 year old tires on the 48 to take off and go to Texas for Lone Star Roundup but wouldn't worry a lot if I just drove it locally and the longest road trip was 90 miles one way.

I've only cleaned em a few times...

 

For me, not in the slightest. I have tires older than that, no issues, but I do regularly check/inspect them and I'm very careful to maintain adequate inflation pressure. I won't lower pressure to improve ride quality if it results in higher tire temps.

 

I have a set of Auburns on my 50. Don't really clean them at all, and they still look bright white for the most part.

I have a bit of rust staining from the wheels on a couple. DB suggested dawn, or a magic eraser if that didn't work.

The car does sit outside most of the winter, unfortunately.

 

You won’t go wrong with Diamondback. Bright white and excellent customer service.

 

I caught Mrs. BB tossing out everything in the fridge one day that was past the "best used by" date. Cheese? Best used within 2 weeks of purcahse? I have bought 25-year-old cheese in Denmark and they command a premium for it. I told her to stay away from the whiskey! Tire expiration dates? If I sold tires, I would buy billboards telling you all to replace them every 5 years. I garage my cars, I run them properly inflated, I inspect them and I run them with confidence. I also eat old cheese, aged booze and I like the look of a well-aged and maintained woman. New stuff isn't always the best stuff.

 

My pal Dave just put Diamondback radials on his '55 Chevy. HRP
