Finally got my seat back and installed, just finish welded the shifter and painted it. Hope to get a test drive tomorrow if the rain holds off for a minute
Nice installation and beautiful car...but I still don't think any amount of cabledraulic brake adjustment will compensate for 3 times the horsepower produced by that Hemi. JMHO.
Motor sounds great, got a good cam grind that makes it actually sound like a hit rod. This motor does sound a lot like a sewing machine with all this valve train motion but not in a bad way.
Cables work as well as hydraulic in my opinion. Stops great but they do require adjustment to stop straight. If I can get a dry day I’ll get that sorted with a few clicks of the adjusters and she will be just fine.
Thanks, I picked up 3 cow hides and had a friend that does high end furniture repair do the stock seat. I still have 1 full hide left and hope to do the door panels in the same material one day
Made it to a Wednesday night cruise at Gilmore car museum finally. Ran great and got to test the vacuum wiper on the way home
I love the car & it looks great, but I think that the fat fender Fords look better with the hood sides on than off. Just my opinion.
Fantastic! I can just imagine saying “oh man come look at this ford its got the coolest v860” and then getting that surprise!
I’m on the fence myself on that. Still have the hood sides and they slip right on so I can run them when I want to. I’m going to have to live with the new updates for a bit before I figure out what I think feels best for this car
Looks like you scored a spot in the shade turned rain cover! scroll to the last 5 or so minutes to find the show coverage
YES, It was a nice spot for a black car on a semi hot day. Great show and it was nice to be recognized by Gas Ax garage with a nice painted award. Got to love a late summer day at a car show.
Thanks, I love that I can run it full sleeper mode or half with the sides off. I might even try it no hood just to see how it feels
As far as the hood sides, can you make side panels that would show off the engine but hide the firewall? Something with a swoop to follow the rake of the grill and the back edge of the hood line? Just a thought.
How refreshing. a real Hot Rod..... man, you had me at Hemi..... Them Baby Dodges can really scoot when done right. Outstanding
Personally I'm in the other camp. I love it with the hood sides off to show off that gorgeous engine swap! This is one of the nicest builds I've ever seen! Love that it retains so much of the stock look, but has the hemi and multi carb intake swapped in it!
