Event Coverage Road trip

I put 500 miles on this rig yesterday, from Florida to South Carolina. It’s been awhile since I drove that thing that far. I had the top up most of the day for shade. I ducked into a gas station for 45 minutes to wait out a thunderstorm. I’m dropping the boats off at a friend’s house. On Friday and Saturday I’ll be in Travelers Rest, South Carolina for the National T Bucket Alliance Swamp Rabbit Fun Run.

 

Check out this junkyard/ car lot I happened to drive past in Gray Court, South Carolina. There was probably 10 acres of mostly cl***ic cars.

 

Looks like a fun ride with ear plugs of course. Some of those cars would come home with me if I had the money and space.

That blue DeSoto for $5,500 looked pretty darn nice, inside and out.

Yeah, I was wondering how many he actually sells. I was the only person there, and I was just taking pictures.

They may be getting cheaper. I think I read somewhere that he sold the land to a hospital and he has a few months to clear everything out.

Well, if he’s willing to part with his collection like he mentions, sure beats seeing them become overseas appliances.

 

I have stopped there a couple of times, most of the stuff was way overpriced or pulled from the bottom of the ocean..

 

That poor Dodge custom? pickup made my eyes bleed.

 

Unfortunately, the event was pretty much a bust for me. The first two days I wasn’t there, and the weather was perfect. On day three it rained almost all day. On day four, it rained on and off, and I was the only one willing to drive my T bucket. Myself and five pickups full of people drove to the planned event for the day, the Semper Fi Barn in South Carolina. Plus, my T bucket is the only one in that group that is HAMB friendly anyway.
