Yes, I was gifted a NOCO brand jump box, and it's worked whenever I needed it for a couple years. I'm thinking mine has "75" in the name, gotta go look. Edit: Mine says GB 70 model. I try to carry it in the most used car, but kinda wishing we had another to just live at the shop.
I have a TOPDON JS2000 jumper box and I love it. I have used this to jump start my heavy equipment also . I even bought one for my wives car. Vic
My friend's shop gave the employees all Wolfbox brand jump starters, they like them. They got the 4000 series, as they work on heavy equipment. There are lower amperage and cost ones available.
I have owned a Rockford jump box for 10 years and it has never failed me. When I did my initial start up and burn in on my flathead, it was the power source. It has also powered my winch a few times pulling cars on and off the trailer. They are handy little tools to have on hand in an emergency.
First one I had was Anti-Gravity brand. Maybe 10 years ago, hyped all over the net as a next big thing. Paid real money for it, didn't need it for months and neglected to test it. Complete POS as far as I could ever tell, didn't get it to work even once never figured it out.
I have two Tacklife 12V jump packs. One I bought myself (T8 800Amp) and one was a Christmas present from my dad. I use both pretty often (keep them in different vehicles) and neither has ever not been able to do the job. For my 6V vehicles I usually just get a push and pop the clutch
I'm a big believer in NOCO products. I have a GB50, got my wife a GB40, and have two 2A smart chargers as well. I got my GB50 7 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat.
Another NOCO happy owner. It has done the job every time I asked, it's simple to charge up and the connectors and clamps are sized right. I will say I wish it had a box or bag you could just tuck it into, but that is the way with a lot of tools from overseas. They are shipping a lot, so the packaging is the smallest possible, not end-user friendly.
My NOCO GB 40 came with a bag. I’ve had it for a couple years with no issues. Just used it a couple hours ago, couldn’t be happier.
I find the bag will just barely hold the box and the cables if they are disconnected and you are very careful. With them connected, it sticks out of the drawstring top. I just keep it loose in the truck, it's a minor quibble. I'm sure I could find a larger bag online or at the secondhand store. Say a welder's helmet bag, although I'd prefer something longer, so the clamps aren't folded over and banging against the box. Maybe Snowboard bag? It just isn't something I've followed up on.
I've got a big one. It's old, works fine. But my buddy has one that's about the size of a walkie talkie and will start a semi....
I bought two jump boxes and they ended up in both my girls cars, when I need a jump box I will be sad up Sheet Creek! Now that you have reminded me I will use this thread for a box that will be stashed in my traveling tool box. HRP
Some really are surprising. Buddy bought some cheap one off of Amazon and I mean it was cheap Chinese brand. About the size of your hand and just over an inch thick. He had it at the shop for about 3 months and used it once and never put it back on a charger. A 1-ton diesel came in, after a day sitting there it was totally dead. So for giggles we grab his jumper to see if it'd even try to turn over the diesel, it actually cranked it with no problem and fired up. We stood there laughing, in all honesty I didn't figure it had a chance in hell and neither did he... ...
I use an Adaptor and a Makita LXT battery [[ have 10 LXT batteries laying around] an old 3.0Ah battery was enough to crank over a 4.0 Falcon Barra Engine The adaptor only cost $1.99 + Tax Now if you don't want to entertain the DIY approach, when looking for a Jump Starter try and find one with capacitors in it [they perform better]
Does anyone else have an emergency spot to hook one up? Inside my grill I've got terminals. My car has poppers on the doors, so they're there in case battery dies and you can't open the doors.... I didn't put um in, previous owner did.
