On the Flatheads Forever webpage, I say a video with this Flathead on a stand with flexible exhaust tubes. Of course, the center tubes appeared siamesed for each of the inboard cylinders. Where can I get that type of exhaust and is this picture with 4 exhaust pipes for real? Thanks.
Don’t know of suppliers your side of the pond but was a thing on pre WW2 cars, Dusenburg, Mercedes, Cord all used them.
That flexpipe used to be common at autoparts stores. It was an easy way to cobble together an exhaust on a car. I don't know if stores still carry it or not, I've moved past my cobbled exhaust days
Looks good to me but like Cool-flex radiator hose, it might not p*** muster with the traditional police or Moderators. Not my call.

Got the Y-splitter for the siamese ports from the UK, and the exhaust flange is from Hells Gate. She doesn’t leak. At least not yet. Haha! There is a whole series of recent vids on my YT channel. From long distant memory of using that ****, as a very temp "fix" for damaged/rotted exhaust tubing, just a section actually, I'm not remembering it lasting all that long, rotted quickly, rusted faster. Also don't remember it as being leak-proof even when new. Got real exhaust asap. I do believe the Cord/Duesy stuff was much better constructed & better material(s). Not to mention much more $$$... . The whole point of the exhaust was to replicate the exhaust system on the GN JAP creation of Richard Scaldwell. Yes, it’s cheap flex pipe, but that’s what he used. Haha!
after you mock up the exhaust exactly the way you want then you can replace the pieces with solid pipe. kinda cool trial and error.
I’m sure just about everyone has used the flex pipe at one time or another. As far as lasting or leaking my guess is that it depends on usage. I’m sure on a daily driver it won’t last for years but on a car that is driven 1000 to 2000 miles a year it’ll likely last for years. @Ziggster your car ROCks! Dan
Thanks Dan. I’m sure in the 15 yrs or so that Richard’s GN JAP has been around, I doubt he’s ever changed out the flex pipe. I have no plans on replacing it with solid pipe. It’s all part of the vintage look appeal. If it breaks it’s an easy swap with a new piece. My speedster will never be road legal in Quebec, so useage will be minimal. It does raise the question though, that once I’m finished, where am I going to keep this thing. Lol!
As a “home built” it needs to adhere to an encyclopedia of requirements like a windshield, wipers, heater, no exposed exhaust, etc, so that was a non-start from the get go.
