Technical 49 ford trunk hinges

hey all! any one do hidden trunk hinges on a 49 shoebox? looking for ideas from someone who has done it. thank you in advance

 

Ford did it in ‘51. This is a stock coupe. Sorry for all bugs and stuff.
The best bet would be to find 51 parts.

Best thing about that is that all the sedans and coupes used the same internal hinges in '51; no need to find any particular one.

 

i found some 51 hinges, with a few mods, i think they can be made to fit the 49 trunk

 

Yes we fitted 51 hinges to our 49 coupe .nice how when you pop the internal release the lid pops up a little. I can take pics if you’d like.

 

Yep, that’s a great benefit with the 51 system. That slinging catch thing can be tricky on 49s and 50s.
