Event Coverage Lloydfest IV

I’m going to try for it.
I have a month to put the Fairlane together.
It has not been on the road since ‘77.
I have a lot to do, like putting the car together and overhauling the transmission.

If I get it together and it’s safe for the 7 1/2 hour trip, can we camp in a tent for the night?
If we can make it is OK to bring an off topic chase vehicle? My girlfriend will follow in her car. Is this OK?

 

I am speaking from past experience Lloyd just wants everybody to have a good time. There has always been camping, and I drove my OT vehicle last year. My Hot Rod was down, and I also wanted to bring some swap meet Items as well.

Yep, like enloe said, you can tent camp in the park, and i don't care what you drive, more about the people and hanging out!

 

And yes, swap meet parts! If you wanna sell anything, bring it

 

Are you sure? I've been getting all psyched up, telling my family all about having the '48 running for Lloydfest V, and now you tell me it's only IV. I had to go back and count my T-shirts. This getting old ****s.

 

Trying to not get too excited as I don't want our already too short summer to disappear, but definitely
looking forward to seeing all the "core crazies" again as well as meeting a bunch of new folks from here on the forum!

By the way...My way late sponsorship check is leaving today. My memory ****s these days.

Is my usual spot next to Old Fire House still available?
I will probably be by myself this year as Lois had a knee replacement and won't be ready for travel yet. She said I could ask someone to go with me, so I asked some women I know; all their husband's said no.
If I can get a few things done on the Moonshiner '40 before LFIV, I have seriously thought about leaving the MH at home and driving the '40 out there. I put over 10K road trip miles on my '50 Ford Sedan. And it was running a Hopped up flathead. So I am not afraid of driving an old car on a trip. I drive my '40 quite a bit and have done some 100+ mile roundtrip runs without any problems. So, we'll see. Ron

I'm sorry to hear that Lois will miss the party. Please tell her we'll miss her. On the other hand everyone I know that's had knee replacement has said it turned out great and they wish they had done it sooner.

 

That's what everyone told Lois and she had hers done in May. She said never again. Her recovery has been rough on both of us. Four days after surgery she had a blood clot in her lungs. But she's getting there.

 

Drive the '40; Alyn and I are driving the late model '48 again. The trip up and back from Tennessee on two-lanes was great, especially on some of the eastern Kentucky roller coaster backroads. Look forward to seeing you.

We might have driven on some of those same backroads after last year's wing ding. We left Camargo and headed down to Sevierville/Knoxville/Maryville area to see relatives. I think we drove on some roads that non-hillbillies haven't used in decades. We saw some great scenery and might do it again this year.

One place we saw was the Nada tunnel. The tunnel wasn't much to write home about but the roads leading to and away from it were exquisite.

 

Laura & I will miss seeing Lois this year as well!

We will keep her in our prayers for a more comfortable & speedy recovery.

As Lloyd, Matt Hopkins, and Enloe know, I started a new job last year after 28 years at the old place and don’t have the vacation time yet I used to have. However, I put in my time last week and my awesome service manager approved my days! That being said, we will leave Thursday night after work and get there as quickly as possible, but will likely miss the dinner. Papaw will stay home this year and Little Truckdoctor will bring his newly finished (again) 51 Ford g***er. We just put the new (again) driveshaft in yesterday and hopefully, weather permitting, will drive it today for the first time since BG. Lloyd, Enloe, and Matt Hopkins all know the story, and I will let Little Truckdoctor tell it to all who are interested when we get down there. Hey Brother, any chance of a cruise or drive this year? I loved that when we did it in years past. It gives Tonya and I a chance to look at property and houses!

A little more than a month away! I'm looking forward to seeing Chandler's car. It has come a long way in one year.

 

I wanna see a lhellacious burnout!!

 

Friday night, we took his car and my truck to a cruise in at a church in St. Louis county. It was about 60 miles round trip and the two of us took a ride yesterday for another 60 miles. We are going to drive it again today. Wednesday he wants to drive it to his first day of school. That will be his first day out with it without me as I will be at work. Other than the BG incident, everything has gone well. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!! Thank you to all of our friends who helped him out with this!!!

 

Chandler, the first day of school used to be right after Labor Day. What happened to that? Lol. Yep, I wanna see a burnout, too!

 

It seems like they start later and later every year. We used to start after Labor Day too. He’s done a small burnout close to the house, but nothing spectacular yet.

Getting excited, this year Stubby will be sitting this one out as we will be bringing Prissy.

We will be going to see Laura's Daughter, Son-in-law & Grandson Max (who came to Lloydfest II from Sevierville, Tn) for a few days before coming to Lloydfest IV as they have added another member to the family (Charlie) & it will be the 1st time Laura gets to see her newest Grandson! She plans on taking Max for a ride in Prissy with the lid off

Come on HAMB Guys & Gals, get your ducks in a row & make the trip! I know that @Lloyd's paint & gl*** is advertising locally this year, but this is at its core a HAMB show. Last year we had a handful of newbies (hope you all come back), but it would be Cool to put some more "Faces to Handles" this year.

Maybe they don't wanna hear me sing?? everyone is welcome! Tent camping spots! Gonna be great! Who knows, might destroy a rear end again, sling a rod, but it'll be a good time!

So SAT morning drive when is the band playing don't want to miss that like I did last year. just trying to plan when to get there and how long to stay. maybe a loose schedule of events I know Lloydfest is pretty laid back looking forward to it.
