First one we built 1967/8 was a 32 Bantam roadster with a 348 Chevy & Tri power. It had a B&M Hydramatic that weighed about 250 pounds -
The engine was out of proportion to the little body and the only chrome we could afford were 3 little air cleaners.

My T bucket, that I built in high school metal shop, had a fibergl*** body, an original T shell and a ‘58 Pontiac engine. My metal shop teacher asked me (in his smug, knowing way) if a radiator that fit in that little shell would cool a big Pontiac V8. I said, gee, I haven’t thought about that. They do in the cars in the magazines. I was focused on the look that I wanted, didn’t consider whether it was practical or not.

    What I'm seeing
No ***le ****s, Bonded ***le is not that hard in AZ AFAIK.
4 bar front, hairpin rear, bent drag link.
short WP SBC with an air gap and holley, one header in car? I can just make out the right side is still in place. Curved Ebrock valve covers.
HEI but coil hanging on polished firewall?
Don't know what's going on between motor mount and oil filter.
Spring behind tubular front axle, coil spring rear.
front seems to be Girling brake caliper? Drag mark looks like the front does not roll.
single pane windshield broken, vertical frame, not tilted back. Hand wiper and Support rods.
Interesting 6 spoke front wheels with knock-offs.
Ugly front shock mounts, no rad shell.
Looks like it might have the top bows and mounts. Appears to have been fully upholstered at one point.
    Longer bed, frame channeled body.
    Full chrome headlights, oogh horn.

    Unknowns: steering box, trans, rear.

Beats the heck out of this one listed for a while.

^^^^^This is such an inspirational hot rod. It has a short wheel base, raked in the back, stuffed with a Cadillac OHV engine ( I believe), and reversed chrome wheels. I'm actually collecting parts to build something very similar. Will share a link to my build when I have it mocked up.

If you copy the image link, then use the little picture icon at the top of the box when replying, paste the link in there, it will show the image rather than the link.

I'd love to see your project, please keep us informed.

Von Franco's Lightnin' Bug Clone being built in my shop about 2007.
Headers are from the original kar and I had to heat and straighten them.
