    Milner's

It seems as though both of these hold a place in our hearts. While I hate Yellow (We've Covered this) and I am definitely not really a '32 Five Winder Guy Milner's Coupe is as Hot Rod as it gets. Contested for its Grill, sloping Hood Supports, etc, etc.

While the California Kid IS/Has been/Was the ultimate Hot Rod for me. I wouldn't kick neither one out were I fortunate enough to own 'em. But for me The "Kid" is where it's at.

Just curious if anyone else has these silly conundrums in the weeee hours and all day long?

To me Milner's is more basic hot rod. I like the Kid too. It's just touch more refined.

when I read "Milner's or McCord's" my brain went to Adam 12. those are the actors name who played officer Jim Reed and Pete Malloy

Both I feel where purpose built / use as
    DD
Street racers to gamble & make $
    not track rides
    Happen to be H-R's

If both in 64 to set beside each other
    The 32 by 2 car's @ the stripe

I loved both of those movies these two cars were seen in, I am partial to Milner’s because I am originally from the San Joaquin Valley.
But photographically speaking, the kid is more visually appealing!
Both hot rods are icons in the realm of hot rodding and cinema!

Of the choices above I would choose the California Kid.
But the I think about some other movies.
What about the Willys from the Hot Rod (Rebel of the Road) movie or the 55 Chevy from Two Lane Blacktop? There are so many others as well!
I need a bigger garage in my brain.

One was a real Hotrod that got cast in a movie. The other was a movie prop that became an Icon.
With all due respect to Pete and the Kid, the cobbled together piss-yellow coupe, with all the no-no's, takes it.
Not fair, not right, but 'tis whaddi 'tis. o_O

FWIW I'd take the '55 in TLBT trim...:D

The California Kid is a much better proportioned car, with proven, cl***ic mods that have stood the test of time. The yellow coupe has goofy proportions, a few parts that don’t really fit the time frame, but a way more famous movie.

    I’d choose the Kid.

The Movie Version much different than picture above

Both the 32 & Kid different time frame
    Early 60
    Vs 70 Kid now 94ish

The Kid & TLBT 55 close same time
frame so different build & trend's

Running the streets looking for the next race, definitely milner.

Running down the road heading for the next town, the kid...

Just depends on what my expectations for the car is.

But being more hotrodder than cruiser, id probably go Milner .

Milner, more of the street racer, like the Kid too, but does not give the vibe of a street racer hotrod in what ever era that is trying to be represented.

  23. In my world 33/34 over 32, but both right up there.

Like was stated above are you going to the race or the show. If I could only have one I’d take the yellow one even though the Kid is a better build.
    Wait I’ll take both

The AG 55 Chevy was on an episode of Adam 12, so it fits.

Im somewhat biased as apparent the original builder of my 34 used a lot of styling cues from the Cali kid. That and Ive never really had much love for the Milner coupe.

I went to junior high and high school with Michelle of the Mama's and Papa's who was the actress in the California Kid Movie. Because of that connection the Kid is my favorite plus I knew many of the guys who built the car. All the guys in school had a crush on her!
