Vintage Sun Tune Up, Testers, Scopes, Analyzer, Distributor Thread

I just now saw this thread, figured I’d try here. I posted this question in the “Antiquated” section, but no replies.
Anyone know what this adapter is? It’s from an old Sun machine I used to have. Numbers on the bottom are 8398-1.

Really? That’s what another member here said, via PM but when I looked up this number my Google search turned up no info. I looked for about an hour. Neither one of us could confirm it really.

Similar, but not exact.
I sold the machine, so have no use for the adapter, but I couldn’t confirm the ID.

I have a Sun Tach Tester SX-156-1. It has an early 60s instruction sheet. Looking for a copy of a late 60s early 70s instruction sheet. Can provide my copy of the early 60s sheet in exchange.

 

I'm north of Dallas and cannot get away Saturday in any event. A chance to meet Ryan and come home with a VAT-40 is hard to p*** up but sadly, can't do it.

This came up on Ebay a week or so back. The model name on it is "TUT" for "Tune Up Tester". First Sun tune up tester I have seen that includes a vacuum gauge. It is essentially new in the box. There is a tiny bit of dirt on one of the alligator clips that tells me that it has been hooked up a couple of times. But inside and out this thing looks new. The copyright date on the instruction manual is January 1954. A couple of things on the machine fit in with that date - the shape of the meter housings and the design of the serial number plate. I found a note written on a bracket on the ch***is inside - "Calibrated 11-74 WB". When this came up on Ebay I just couldn't help myself. The seller told me that he bought it at an estate sale.

Anybody have a catalog that shows this to help nail down the date?

Is a flathead dist adapter worth anything without the little side clamps? To me you should be able to use bolts and little pieces of steel to clamp it down.

I came into an automotive tool haul. There were some Sun instruments in the deal that I now have. Does anyone know where I can find manuals for these tools

RDO rectified diode tester
TDT-11 tach/dwell meter
CCT-10 coil condenser tester
TRT-12 transistor regulator tester

If anyone knows where I can find these Sun manuals please let me know.

In the deal was a Snap-On ignition ****yzer MT831 and two Pensje dwell tach meters 21014. There was also a later Craftsman engine ****yzer.
