Confusion is always in my head…..I thought channelling had the body completely over the frame…. I would call this a hiboy if had not read the story! Very nice car with an engine I always admired and owned at one time.

 

Thanks jimmy six. I understand your confusion. I usually call it a hiboy too because the channel is so mild and not a traditional channel. Yep they are are a great little engine.

 

Man I’d be tempted to paint a rubber wheel chock like a wedge of cheddar cheese to go with that cheese grater of a car. So cool man.

fantastic build, lots of great details, without loosing the big picture, really well done.
2 quick questions,
1. How is the driving experience in reflection, now that its a driving affair, and no longer a build?
2. Louvre size, any details on them?

Hi Drewfus,
The roadster drives well now, after a couple of tweaks. Ended up using 4.6:1 gears because the Supra box has a tall 1st gear and the rear tyres are about 30” tall. I’ve got the longest ram tubes I could make fit under the hood to help the low end torque and changed the air fuel on the ECU. No bump steer and got some travel in the suspension. Runs well on the highway… been to Narranderra and Canberra +. So far so good.
They are 3” louvres in the body and in the pan and some 1 1/2” louvres in the sump pan
