Well, I can’t seem to move the pics down to insert the copy. So here it is at the end.

The bestest wife in the world flew me to Chattanooga to hitch a ride on Diamond Lil-the sole flying B24 in the world. Well, she broke at her home base and didn’t make it☹️☹️☹️☹️. So we toured the B-29 and watched the other aircraft fly instead.

In the meantime we discovered the Coker museum and Honest Charlie’s place. They have a really nice collection of a variety of cars/tools/planes/ephemera-pretty much anything car or bike related. Here are some pics, 90% are on topic for the forum, albeit a little on the older side. But there a lot of fast cars there!

At least the cars can't roll away if they forget to put the parking brake on.

    Thanks for the pics!

The worn Woody wagon looks like a preserved gem.

Well, at least you were able to salvage something out of the trip. I can't imagine what a huge letdown you experienced, not being able to fly in the bomber, but it sounds like your wife is a keeper!

Yes she is! When we were dating she told me I could buy all the tools I wanted! Sealed the deal right there! And she got them to get her tickets to its home base in Dallas, so another fast weekend jaunt!
